Right believing results in right living, but it is NOT right believing UNLESS it produces right living! We believe in the true and exact image of God the Father presented in the person of Jesus Christ, "Abba/Ishi," the Devoted Father and Husband," NOT "Baal," the "Harsh Slave-Master." "At that time"--this is GOD's Message still-- "you'll address me, 'Dear husband!' Never again will you address me,
Something to think about -
THE EXPENSIVE SIMULATION
"I don't believe Christianity is about clergy-laity division, real estate holdings, never-ending money collections, and Sunday morning rehearsed and staged programs. All those things are much later additions to historic apostolic Christianity. As much as we are used to all of the above today, all those things are a big part of the reason why people are kept in perpetual spiritual diapers.
That's simply how the system works today. With those, you don't so much grow into Gods fullness as you learn to become a "company man" or woman. "Part of the crew, part of the ship", as Flying Dutchman crew members in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie would say. Sure, Christ still finds cracks even in that system and reaches people through it as well - and thank God that he does. But I would submit to you that he does so despite it, rather than due to it.
How about this, for a change. What if people are simply taught just these three things:
- How to take the unseen reality of "Christ in you" to a progressively full, tangibly experienced realization,
- How to connect our heart with the love of the father and stay immersed in it 24x7, and
- How to reliably tap into the power of the Holy Spirit to do "greater works" of John 14:12.
Just these three things, taught by those who *actually* know how to get there and stay there. As opposed to an assortment of lectures on a variety of psychological and leadership topics, which are really more rooted in secular humanism than in actual way of Jesus Christ.
I am not against learning how to parse Hebrew and Greek sentences, how to deliver rousing orations, and earning the right to put important prefixes before personal names. Those skills (minus the prefixes, perhaps) can be useful. But if people having those skills don't have a proven track record with the three things in the bulleted list above - that's about as useful to me as having 50,000 experience points and three platinum badges in a simulation video game.
You can't really expect people to continue paying attention and money for the kinds of things which only work in simulated environments".
