We are incredibly pleased to announce our representation by Ateliers Courbet in New York City!
Founded in 2013, the gallery has fostered a distinct program dedicated to promoting and supporting the meticulous work and ethos of rarefied master craftsmen around the world. Their consistent focus and curation bring light to the craftsmanship and design legacies carried on by the centuries-old ateliers and contemporary masters it represents across five continents.
The Copal Pedestal is composed of ten pieces, linked together with hidden locks, resulting in the sensation that seven out of the ten parts of the table are just touching and hovering in the air. This visual tension, defying gravity on its cantilever, touches upon the open censers used to burn copal, a tree resin used for ceremonial incense and holds symbolic significance, viewed as the “sacred blood of the trees”.

MEET THE FOUNDERS
Héctor Esrawe (1968) was born in Mexico City and graduated from the Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA) in 1992 as an Industrial Designer. His work has taken him from being a professor and well-known design figure to having a plethora of design practices.
Hector firmly believes in collaboration and multidisciplinary interaction, which has allowed him to work with other design and architecture studios, urbanists, artists, museum curators and scenographers. This enthusiasm has led him to become a cofounder of EWE, VISSIO and MASA, which aim to promote Mexican collectible design. EWE Studio was co-founded by Hector, Age Salajõe and Manu Bañó in 2017.

MEET THE FOUNDERS.
Age Salajõe (1986) was born in Estonia and is a Mexico City based creative director. Her practice has led her to work in production, aiding in high-profile events from Scandinavia, London, Berlin, New York, and Miami.
In 2016, Age moved to Mexico City with a keen design eye and entrepreneurial approach for cross-pollination between mediums - whether it be art or design. In blurring the line across mediums she always advocates for the nuanced relationship between aesthetics and functionality. She is gatherer of beautiful things and nexus for cross-cultural ways of thinking. Aside of her other practices, MASA and NETA VERE, Age co-founded EWE Studio alongside Héctor Esrawe and Manu Bañó in 2016.

BRASS + AMBER BLOWN GLASS + LED LIGHT
VARIOUS DIMENSIONS
The NEBULA lighting sculpture was born out of a desire to explore the art of weaving and the beauty of stars and cloud formations.
The design process for the NEBULA began with an exploration of basket weaving, one of the oldest known crafts in human history. We were also particularly inspired by the traditional metal baskets used in Mexico to carry eggs and fruits.

S.R.O. - Símbolo Bench
Handcarved
Green Onyx
L130 x W84 x H71 cm
L51 1/3 x W33 x H27 9/10 in
The diverse beliefs practiced in Mexico through centuries and the symbolism surrounding those beliefs, inspired the form of all Símbolo pieces.
How quick they were to communicate often complex ideas and represent the transition between the finite and the infinite world of the deities.
