At Bethany Pickers it's all about the thrill of the hunt. At Bethany Pickers we love to rescue furniture and accessories that have outlived their usefulness.
We love searching out and rescuing objects that no one else wants and finding was to refresh and reuse them. We shop flea markets, tag sales, thrift stores, and swap shops looking for sad items with good lines. Then we refinish, paint, swap hardware, and sometimes combine items to create something new. Finally found the perfect use for that vintage door I have been storing in my shed. This is another great example of ‘Buy what you love and you will find a home for it!’ I was drawn to this door with great old paint at a flea market quite a few years ago but had absolutely no idea what I was going to do with it. This bed in my vacation rental in Ludlow, Vt never had a headboard. This is a small bedroom in a circa 1900 Vt farmhouse so there really wasn’t room for a headboard.
Turns out- a 1” door screwed to the wall was the perfect solution! And I got another item out of my shed! Yay me!!!

It drives my family crazy but I often have no idea what I am going to do with something when I buy it! I fell in love with this antique pine plate rack at an online auction! It spent a year in my garage and then I had a revelation! With a little modification, it is now the perfect back bar in my Vermont house! It's almost like I planned it! 😉
I always say - buy what you love and you will find the perfect spot for it!
