It's National National Public Works Week, a time when we celebrate the dedicated professionals who keep our city running smoothly and safely. From maintaining streets and parks to ensuring clean water use, our public works crew is the backbone of our organization.

Sometimes asking for help can be scary but we wouldn’t be here if we didn’t do the scary things sometimes!
We set some big goals and we need YOUR HELP!

Project Gear Box is a NEW non-profit in Polk County, OREGON! �We are excited to be a resource in our communities!
We are proud to serve Independence, Monmouth, Dallas and all surrounding towns!
Our mission is to make sure that local youth athletes can get gear at NO cost for sports! ��Often times families can get scholarships and grants to help with the fees to play sports but usually the cost of gear that is required is not included! �This stops so many families and athletes from playing or having proper and safe gear while playing! �
Project Gear Box OFFICIALLY kicked off 21 days ago with 3 donation locations where families locally can donated used sports gear that is then cleaned and gifted back to families and athletes in our communities who need help getting gear! ��In our first 21 days we helped 22 athletes get gear!!! Gear included football and soccer cleats, mouth guards and shinguards!
This is such a neeeded resource in our community and while we love families donating gently used sports gear the need is so much greater then that! Every single dollar that is donated to our fill the box fundraiser goes right back into making sure we can get gear as needed when requested to athletes!
Every dollar raised helps families and young athletes stay involved in their communities! They are given a resource that helps keep them active, involved and INCLUDED!�
We hope to be fully stocked in sizes, gear needed and quantity before fall sports registration open mid summer of 2024! ��We want to tell every athlete who comes to us YES and YOU can make that happen!

On Thursday night we attended our first community event! The 59th annual Monmouth Independence Community awards put on by
the Chamber! It was beautiful, fun and the community was so welcoming! We are so excited to be apart of this group of local businesses and organizations! A huge congratulations to all the award recipients and thank you again to our local for a beautiful night at

We are excited to share that donation boxes are OFFICALLY in their new homes! Ready to be filled with your gently used gear!

LOCATION # 2 YMCA of Monmouth Independence

We are so excited to spend the next few months building our resource closet on the back end from donations so that come fall and winter sport season in Polk county we have gear for every athlete in need!

We are still working on getting 1-2 boxes in Dallas next week so keep watching!
