With over 96 books to her credit, Jan Spivey Gilchrist's career as a fine artist has spanned a quarter of a century. She has exhibited extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean, and has won numerous awards and commissions throughout her career.

Black Pioneers: Legacy in the American West, is a one-of-a-kind exhibit and will be on view through May 21, so don't miss it!
This exhibition, the first of its kind, explores the path of Black history in the West with a timeline of original pictorial quilts. The timeline begins in 1528, with Esteban’s dramatic story, which marks the arrival of Africans in the American West and continues through the Civil Rights Movement.

Our Story
GAS-ART GIFTS began as an autographed children's bookstore owned by the renowned children’s book illustrator, R. Gregory Christie. It offered art classes for adults and children, inside of Decatur, GA’s, North DeKalb Mall up until August of 2018.
Although no longer a brick and mortar, the store is now primarily an online and traveling bookstore. More information is on our website www.gas-art.com.
