How Do You Exercise Your Cat?
We have a Maine C**n Cat who won't chase a string for more than 15 seconds. I can roll a SeaFlex across the floor and he'll chase it, but when I put it inside an exercise ball. He walks away..too much work! How do you help your cat keep moving? Anybody give me a reason why this beautiful girl, Aurora, who has been in a shelter for a year (but out and about with the shelter director) should stay even one day longer?

Going to the vet is always scary for Ellie. She recently jumped down and hurt her leg. After limping a few days, we went to our vet and received the good news of no broken bones. Dr. M. then recommended that we give Ellie glucosamine and chondroitin to "help prevent arthritis from developing" in the injured shoulder. The choice was a capsule that we could open & sprinkle on the food and hope Ellie ate it -- versus Baxter -- or we could give SeaFlex :-). I said we already had SeaFlex that we give as a treat. Dr. M said to give the full dosage on the back of the bag for two weeks. Ellie is Loving this prescription! She is already back to jumping up & down from her favorite perch.

How many folks made it to a beach during this heat wave??? We enjoyed the beaches in Southern Maine .... long walks (thank you ArthriSea!) before the crowds arrived, followed by a long dip in the cool water!

It is a beautiful day on Deer Isle! A Great day for a walk in the woods. Sadie and I finally saw our first Fiddleheads of the season!

Ellie wants to know why she doesn't get a holiday, "I've got big ears!" I told her that she didn't bribe folks with baskets of chocolate and jelly beans! Happy Easter everyone!
