We are delighted to announce that the fabulous Phillip Thomas will be joining us as vocal coach for IOSS July 2016 in Puglia.

In a career spanning over three decades, Phillip Thomas has worked as vocal coach, casting associate, record producer, accompanist, vocal consultant and conductor. He studied at the RAM, worked for WNO and then join ENO as music staff where he went on to lead their Young Artists Training programme. His prolific concert career has taken him all over the world working with the most distinguished artists including: Dame Josephine Barstow, Susan Bullock, Paolo Gavanelli, Sir John Tomlinson, Sir Edward Downes, Sir Mark Elder, Zubin Meta and Sir Georg Solti.

Along with Mary King and James Bonas it's looking like a great lineup for the summer.

Italian Opera Summer School The Italian Opera Summer School is an intensive week in music and language designed for vocal students, young professional singers and a student repetiteur.

A day in the life of IOSS 2015...Thanks to the wonderful Lisa Cazzato Vieyra for these great shots of production rehearsals and vocal/language coaching sessions in the stunning Palazzo Pesce - followed by an evening swim in the ever gorgeous Monopoli. Iqbal Khan joins the coaching team on the Italian Opera Summer School 2015!!!

Iqbal Khan, currently directing Othello as part of the “Venice” season at the RSC, is an experienced theatre/opera director and actor. His directing credits for opera and theatre include: RSC, Birmingham Opera Company, ETO, National Theatre, Lyric Hammersmith, Minack Theatre, Edinburgh Festival, Tricycle Theatre, the West End and many more.

Robert is Vocal Professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and vocal coach at the National Opera Studio. He gives Vocal Masterclasses around the UK, USA, Canada, and in Denmark, where he has held the appointment of Visiting Guest Professor of Singing at the Royal Danish Academy in Copenhagen.

Along with James Bonas and Nicholas Bosworth it's looking like a great lineup for the summer.
