Dr. Krishna’s will be missed. He was a very special man and physician. I wanted to share this information that his family posted. Karen
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Dr. M. S. Krishna, 77. Dr. Krishna passed away peacefully at his home in Tampa, FL, on February 7, 2023, of congestive heart failure.
Dr. Krishna touched the lives of thousands. He cared deeply for people and for his communities, of which he had many. His life was a testament to extraordinary kindness and compassion. Born on January 26, 1947, in Maragowdanahally, India, a small rural village in Southern India, he embarked on a remarkable journey fueled by a vision of a brighter future. Working tirelessly, he pursued his education and graduated from Bangalore Medical College, fulfilling his lifelong dream of becoming a physician.
In pursuit of new opportunities, Dr. Krishna and his beloved wife, Daya, journeyed to the United States, where they established roots in various cities including New York and Detroit, and eventually settled in Princeton, Indiana, where they called home for 42 years. It was there that Dr. Krishna fulfilled his calling, opening a pediatrics practice.
He was a leader and inspired the same in others. He served on the board of numerous organizations in Princeton. He was active in fundraising for the building of the Tri-State Hindu Temple and Cultural Association. He chaired his medical school’s alumni association, organizing events that brought together alumni in the U.S.
Dr. Krishna's legacy of generosity extended beyond borders. He leaves behind a scholarship foundation established many years ago, aimed at supporting promising young students in his native village, providing them with opportunities to pursue higher education—an enduring testament to his commitment to empowering future generations.
He had a love for high school and college basketball (PCHS! Hoosiers!), desserts (Dairy Queen tropical blizzards), traveling all over the world (nearly every continent), and sharing laughs with family and friends (he was famous for his unbridled laughter).
Dr. Krishna is survived by his wife, Daya; daughter, Gowri; son, Ganesh; and three grandchildren whom he adored: Surya, Amara, and Ayan. Their memories of him will be cherished forever.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 11 in Serenity Meadows Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6919 Providence Road, Riverview FL, 33578. A celebration of Dr. Krishna's remarkable life will also be held in Princeton, Indiana, at a future date (TBD) where friends and family will gather to honor his memory and legacy of love and service. In lieu of flowers, contributions to his scholarship foundation are welcomed, ensuring that Dr. Krishna's legacy of compassion and generosity continues to brighten the lives of others for years to come.
