Twin Oaks Outdoors
I am a Christian, Husband, Father, Football Coach & Turkey Hunter. I make quality game calls.
It's been a busy weekend, but I was able to sneak in a 7 hour therapy session yesterday!
Day 1 in the books.....
Tomorrow, we break out the fishing tackle!
It gets daylight early this time of year in New England, but Maine was good to us. Chasing turkeys with a good friend is fun but doing it on new ground makes it special. March 15th can't get here fast enough!
I know I have not posted in a while, but it's that time of year!
These two are headed out to their new home today.
On the left, that's a glass over glass USM call in an Osage pot with a matching striker. On the right, that is an aluminum over glass call in a purple heart pot with a purple heart striker.
If you still need a call, just let me know.
A couple of custom pieces are going out this morning. Hail State!
I have some nice Purple Heart, Poplar and Cherry in the shop, that would pair really nicely with glass, slate or aluminum. Or if you are looking for something different, I bet I can help you out with that also.
Snuck off for a little while today!
3 more sleeps!
I'm working with some Red Heart this morning. These are a couple of special projects for a repeat customer.
10 bucks sign me up!
The Eastern Wild Turkey means way more than ten dollars a year to me. Think about it like this, ten bucks a year could help me and you take our grand children Turkey hunting one day. I'm all in!

The NWTF convention is always a fun time, except for the parking! It's hard to beat 350,000 + sq ft of turkey! Scrolling back through the pictures, I realized two things. I'm horrible at taking pictures, and I'm a sucker for a good box call, case knife, or hat.
Only 26 more days until opening day!
Happy New Years From Twin Oaks Outdoors.
This picture is a little throw back from 1997. This was back when I bought my camo from the seconds section of the original Mossy Oak store in West Point MS and Jake's were legal. This was 27 years ago when I was learning how to play the game. I'm still learning and will be until they put me in the dirt. 74 Days My Friends 74 Days!
If you need a call I have some nice cherry and walnut on hand, we can do that in slate, glass or blasted aluminum. Just let me know....
My two best duck holes are dry, I'm not sure if I have ever see it this dry this time of year. That limits me to the creek for duck. Small water small spread and only one group of woodies this morning. I managed to get one drake out of the group. Wood ducks are my second favorite bird in Mississippi, I will let you figure out what my favorite is. If you told me I would have only killed one last night, I would have still gotten up at 5 am to do it. I would do it again tomorrow if I could. The sunrise and scenery are hard to beat.
I dropped two more off this morning, it only took about five minutes. Five minutes is nothing compared to all the time we spend hunting them. If you enjoy the resource help take care of the resource! Get them tested!
Merry Christmas from Twin Oaks. Hope yall have a great day!
It was a good morning!
Three more headed out just in time for Christmas!
Doing a little work before Church. I'm trying to get the Christmas orders finished so I can do a little hunting myself. These still have several more coats of tung oil to go.
Walnut Grunt call
Cherry Double Reed Mallard Hen
Butternut Single Reed Mallard Hen
I can't wait to see these Hen Mallard calls when they are finished.
I have not posted very many pictures of calls this year and I'm not sure why. These turned out so good I just had to post & they may sound better than they look. I am not taking any more orders for Christmas. If you would like a call for Valentines or Easter let me know.
Super proud of this one. Her forehand has been MIA for a month or so. She found it or at least enough of it to finish second this weekend against some pretty good competition. Win or lose I'm proud of the work she puts in and the way she carries herself.
One of my favorites squirrel poppers.
I did not find them until later in the morning. That's OK, because I know where to start next Saturday.
It's that time of year, sunrises, fine shotguns and case knives.... only had a little over an hour to hunt but I will take it. I see squirrel poppers in my future.
I think I like cooking as much as hunting.

In the shop doing a little work before work. Two classics, a walnut slate call with a hickory striker and a cherry glass call paired with a purple heart striker.
Without a doubt this is my favorite time of year. Spring football and turkey season! The only thing missing is a little more sleep.
If you need a call just let me know!
Let just say, it has been a good 24 hours in central Mississippi! The first one happened quick, the second one made us work for him. They liked those Twin Oaks pot calls, particularly the cedar slate over slate and the bubinga glass over glass.
The season may be open but we are still making calls. Just let us know if you need one.
Passing the time until march 15th! It was an all drake morning on some small water!
If you need a call I have some nice walnut in the shop!
It was a good morning! I am not a skinny Jean guy but if they are even close to a pair of tight neoprene waders it's a hard no!
Just sent the last few calls of 2022 out in time for Christmas. It's been a crazy year for Twin oaks, new location and new shop. If you have any Christmas money and want a call before the spring season just send me a message. Slate or glass calls are 40 and custom picture or decal glass calls are 50. That includes the striker and conditioning stone.
Be safe hunting and good luck!
I have not posted any call pictures lately, between hunting and making calls I have not had a lot of time. So here you go..
I just took these out of the clamps this morning. Every time I see a piece of Walnut I smile, it's my favorite type of wood to work with and that's not changing anytime soon but this poplar call looks and sounds great. I am booked up for Christmas but if you want a call for valentine's shoot me a message. I will be glad to put a custom call together for you or just a simple walnut slate that sounds like the real thing.
If you asked me I would say I am a turkey hunter that likes to be outside so I deer hunt in the fall / winter. I'm sure its a whole lot more than that.
My family eats between 4 & 5 white-tailed deer a year. I killed number 2 & 3 Friday and Saturday afternoon.
Last night I got the processing room aka the kitchen up and ready to do a little work. I truly love this part of the hunt. I think it was some where around 50 - 55 pounds of ground meat. We got it processed and in the freezer. I just need to get the CWD test back and the grill will be fired up and football will be watched.
If you need a call for Christmas I will be finishing up several slate and glass calls soon, just let me know.
Half a limit on opening morning is way better than sleeping in! The older I get the more I understand that life is to short to miss a sunrise on opening day or shoot ugly guns.
