Lovely private view last night - met some lovely artists, photographers & creatives.
So much talking- you know me waffle queen!! I only managed a couple of snaps at the end, plus I didn't get to really see the art! Lol 😆

So I'm looking forward to checking it out today and chatting to the artists in their studios.

We Got Cut Off is now live and waiting for you at the @clifftowntelephonemuseum. Couldn’t have asked for better weather for an afternoon spent in a phone box! This project really means a lot to me, and I can’t wait to start hearing from visitors. If you’re visiting Southend over the school holidays, it’s only a 5 minute walk from the station, or off the high street. It’s a slightly interactive installation, as there’s a secret phone number you can call to contribute to the next stage, but you’ll only see it if you visit. And what timing. Sometimes the right things find you in the right place and time. I’m the first @leigharttrail artist in here which meant installing something about my dad today - the day before his headstone setting memorial service. But it also happens to be a #k6telephonebox - designed by Giles Gilbert Scott, the architect of Battersea Power Station, which I happen to have a massive tattoo of, because it’s my favourite building. Hmmmm, today I'm going round & round - inspired by my little ink mix palette... Now why couldn't we use compasses in maths for this sorta thing...
I'm still looking at that big canvas - it's winking at me... I'll get to you soon oh scary one.
However I rather like these lil colourful portals...they're makin me happy, might be nice if one could open up and time travel me back to January 😆.

Wonderful local exhibition by Terry Mendoza & Nicola Osborne at the Forum Gallery.
Terry's exhibition"Tribal Colour - Vanishing Cultures" is photography on the lifestyle,
portraits and rituals of tribes in South Sudan,Ethiopia, Kenya & Angola. It is joyous, sensitive, and created with integrity. The photographs are accompanied with much information - giving great insight.
Also great to see Nicola's exhibition "Origins" - a cornucopia of colourful paintings created from her Residency at

Finally made it to the Making Modernism exhibition last Friday.
The exhibition centres around seven female artists in Germany and explores their self portraiture, children, still life and landscape as they transverse the not-so-friendly to women art scene from around 1900s onwards through mediums of paint, charcoal, woodblock & sculpture.

I found myself trying to apply all that I'm learning from my art course about narrative in paintings/drawings. I concentrated on their treatment of faces, bodies, and the space they inhibit - looking for the rhythm & story of the painting. My poor brain 🧠- luckily the Shenkman bar was available afterwards for some bubbly refreshments!

Sooo Thursday was my first day at Royal Drawing School for a course called Drawing a Story with our first tutor the veryyy esteemable and witty .
It is a 10 week course combining storytelling & imagination to inspire creative artwork with a life model.
It was absolutely dynamite - obviously as it involves my two favourit-ist things, art & literature...we started with a short story by Chekhov...heaven!
Here's some of the sketches, responses, creative madness that I did did. So much to take in - it is all rolling around my head - just can't wait till next Thursday!!!

and I started approx 12 but didn't fin till about 4.30 - only pausing to pick up some refreshments from the bar half way round 🤭😉! gave up on us ever finishing but we did it in the end 😆.

Just want to do a big shout out of thanks to Kim and her team The Dressmaker for hosting my artwork and me through the Leigh Art Trail!!!
They create the most fabulous bespoke outfits for proms, weddings, parties & more.
They also support local events & charities. This month they have created a gorgeous window for Gold Geese - who support children with cancer.
Lots of places in and around Leigh & Essex are also supporting - look out for the posters (swipe) including C2C Customers - look out for their golden train.

Last day of the 25th Leigh Art Trail folks so get out there and have some fun!!!
Loads of art to trip over and fall in love with! Lots of artists to meet & chat to in open venues. Some venues maybe shut but most artwork can be viewed though windows so press that nose up close for a good look.
I'll be trailing around myself as my venue is closed but all the Artwork can be seen and still purchased (apart from some that have sold already).
