It’s worth noting that altissima is not our most common local goldenrod in the northeastern US; canadensis is. Also worth noting: goldenrod is not toxic. It has a long and continued history of use as an herbal tea (especially common when the colonists were boycotting British tea) and as a tincture. Many people think they’re allergic to its pollen but are not; goldenrod is not wind pollinated and therefore it’s pollen doesn’t become airborne. It’s bee pollinated.

I tincture it every year. It’s extremely useful for allergies & upper respiratory infections, in my experience.

Estimates of the risk of long-term Covid (or “sequelae”) range from 3-50%. The vaccines & boosters reduce the risk somewhat, but less than we would like. The consequences of long-term Covid vary greatly, as does the severity.
