Helping Hands Donation

Helping Hands Gulf Shores, a charity started by Kaysheri Haffner when she was an 11 year-old student at Gulf Shores Elementary School seven years ago, continues to make a positive difference in local children’s lives, hosting a February donation drive that raised funds to help with medical expenses for 9-year-old Camden Pancner. Camden was diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a brain cancer in the cerebellum that leads to impaired eyesight. After a recent surgery, Camden’s body experienced a reset and he has had to relearn most of his motor skills. This year’s Helping Hands team also included Ava Wycoff and Bailey Oldham (pictured above with Kaysheri, Camden and Andrew Pancner). Helping Hand more than doubled their goal of raising $6,000 and presented a check for $14,486 to the family. The Camden Pancner Donation Drive account can be used to make donations at any PNC bank. Once again the community has rallied to help a child in need! Our hearts are full! Stay tuned for the final amount which will be announced next month after finishes the drive for Camden! Ava Wycoff and Kaysheri Haffner working hard ! Bailey Oldham had prior engagements !

The event on the 26th was such a huge success! The community yet again did not fail to amaze us!
People from all walks of life came to support Camden!
Majority of the bidders bid way more than the bidding value just to help with the fundraiser.
At one point I even saw someone just bidding for some items that had no bids!
Straight cash donations were also made.
It is so heart-warming to see the community come together with so much love and compassion!

Since the very first time heard about our annual donation drive, she jumped in to help, to support and encourage us! We are so fortunate to have her and her husband whom she lovingly calls Big Daddy, in our fold.

They are from Wisconsin and they come down south every winter. We consider them locals and wonderful friends of Helping Hands!

Big Daddy is a skilled craftsman and has donated this beautiful hand crafted shadow box for flags worth $140 and Jenna makes hand made soaps! My mom swears by it and hasn’t used anything else since she found her soap!
