Thought you might like to see what part of feeding time looks like here.
Dinner for some of the cats this evening. Also 3 of the dishes will accompany medication for three of our cats. Alfie is on the end of his food hasn’t been made up yet. Then the dish for the unmedicated cats. Then Frosty’s dinner and diabetic medicine followed up by patches ( who already ate some) with his meds mixed into the food. The blue dish contains whiskars for 3 cats. And the rest is all prescription food. Gastrointestinal fiber, purina d/m and renal E. each case of food runs us about $70 for 24 days. This doesn’t include dry food.
I also included a cute picture of Alfie just before he gets fed. We feed him by syringe as he has 2-3 medications in his food. So this way we know he’s had enough food and all the right amounts of medication.

We had another follower send us some food. One case of whiskars and one of fancy feast pate. I never had a chance to get a picture of it all as it arrived at feeding time this evening and someone else opened it up and immediately started feeding cats with it. Thank you Yvonne C. For the food. Oliver much appreciates it.

We met one of our regular followers in Markham this afternoon as they had a donation for us. They donated not one, not two, but three Libre freestyle sensors. This came at such a perfect time as frosty is being fitted with one this evening. Frosty has started his new medication last night so we must keep an eye on his level as of this evening.
Thank you so much for the sensor

I’m late in posting this.

Thank you to the lady who dropped this bag of canned food off at my work for me. It’s truly appreciated and it was perfectly timed for us getting it as we are very low on wet cat food. Whether it’s kitten or adult any donations is appreciated at this time. Thank you.

Happy Halloween everyone.
I just wanted to pop on here real quick and give you an update on how much we raised. Frosty has his medication. We raised over $1550. Frosty will have a minimum of 5 months of medication covered. We will be using $100 of it for a freestyle libra sensor for the first two weeks of this medication. And the remainder will be used for probably one more refill of his medication. As long as his next vet appointment is a free recheck for us.
Thank you everyone who donated towards frosty.

Marmalade is in love with his new self heating blanket. Thank you so very much Jane R. Of Uxbridge. You have been a guardian angel to these cats/kittens.

These are our most needed items that we go through real quick plus a cat bed or two. Some of our cats are housed in an old school portable and the floors are not always that warm during the winter so these self warming beds really help their old bones not get to cold. Yes the portable is heated in the winter and air conditioned in the summer. We have 11 cats there and it would be nice to give them a few of these beds this year as they are seniors.

We have received only $70 towards Frosty’s medication. Frosty needs to start this medication this week at the latest. Without your donations our cats don’t have everything they need. We are an extremely small rescue. With 33 cats and most are seniors. Frosty up until his diabetic diagnosis was up for adoption with his brother Casper. Sadly this diagnosis means no one will ever adopt them. So they have been removed from the adoption page. This rescue is run by 1 elderly lady (87) whose health has declined last year. Her elderly husband (84) and herself have run this using their pension for the past few years. Sonia has run this rescue since 1996. Sonia was very active in the community and surrounding communities and donations were real good. But with her health not good her son, and myself have stepped in to help where we can. Our income is not sufficient enough to help maintain the vet bill that have occurred ( and still occurring) as well as helping with repairs to the shelter, and bills related to the home/property, prescription foods need d for 13 cats and regular cat food for the remainder. Plus all medications for humans and feline alike. My husband and I foster cats, run cats to all appointments as well as taking Sonia and her husband to their appointments as well. We spend all our weekends and spare time cleaning litter boxes and medicating cats and humans alike. Three times a day. All while working our own jobs. One being a 15 hour day job and mine I have taken soo much time off that I’m not to sure I even still have a job.
If we can’t raise $205 each month for Frosty’s medication then we have 2 options available. 1 is letting him suffer as he is or the dreaded trip to the vet where we all know he won’t return from. Frosty is only 6 years old. He deserves a chance to get old with his brother. Frosty and Casper have been in foster care since just before they turned 2. So this is all they know. They are loved and well cared for. But medicine for him has put us in a pickle. We have 2 more cats that need antibiotics. They are long term antibiotics use cats and we have several more vet appointments in the near future that we have post poned several times. So if anyone is able to help us out with a few extra $$$ each month so that we can get frosty healthy and back to himself. We would give you the biggest thank you we can.

We are in need of a 2 seater outdoor love seat or two outdoor chairs. In good condition and either cheap or free. It’s for our adoption space. It needs to be outdoor furniture as we have Stellar in that room and she has CH and does alwygets to the litter box in time. So it needs to be something we can take outside and wash off easy. If anyone has something we may be able to use please send me a picture with info and location. It’s just me to pick it up so that’s another reason it needs to be outside furniture as it’s easy to move around.

Calista and Aurora send a big thank you to Jane R of uxbridge for the refills for their scratch toy. Theses two are the ones that use it the most

So this post is to ask for donations specifically to one cat. Pictured here is Frosty. Frosty is a pure Turkish Van. Frosty has had some health issues since August. He has been diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder and suffers from dry eye as one of these symptoms. BUT, Frosty has just been diagnosed with diabetes. Frosty is only 6 years old and the vets do not want to start him on insulin. There is a new medication for younger cats that is new to the market and Canada called Senvelgo. It’s a once a day medication that Frosty would be an excellent candidate to take. But here’s the problem, it’s $205 for about 1 months supply. We don’t have this money. Frosty need this medication daily for the rest of his life. Insulin is the cheapest choice right now. But it’s a twice a day medication and he will have to be confined to a cage daily instead of having full run of his foster home. And he will be cut off from his brother Casper who he cuddles with most of the day. We don’t want to see this happen. We need to raise $205 every month to keep him on this medication. If at anytime we haven’t raised this money frosty will have to switch to insulin where he will never come off the insulin. Insulin will drastically shorten Frosty’s lifetime and yes at some point during his life he will probably get switch to insulin. Right now we need to get him onto this medication and he needed it today. Is there anyone out there that is willing to donate towards Frosty’s medication on a regular basis? Whether it’s $5 or $20 or $100 or $200. We need help now or Frosty won’t get what he needs to stay healthy. We need a few people who can make a commitment to him for at least the next year with monthly donations towards his medication. If you do choose to donate please list the donation as Frosty in the message section. Frosty thanks anyone and everyone who can help him with his medication.

These are our most needed items right now. One case of 24 little cans last us 3 days for feeding. Same with the whiskars. The Aventi is for our renal cats ( kidney disease) and helps keep them healthy for longer.
