pre comp 3lift this avo with - was only planning on bench only, until few hours ago....but man screw that! this comp ( GPC New Zealand nats) is shaping up to be an epic event that is just to good not be be apart of, so decided to add some wraps again and squat comp style, made it to 250 with no issues, weight moved sweets so its game on, not going to get close to what was planned 8 weeks back or pb but i know i can still move 270 odd so will be a good starting point, best part is i think im fully recovered now so 300 this year is back on! benched to 1+2nds peaked last week...muppet! and had deload weeks on pulls so did so old school mumo's!! will aim for 270/160/270 next weekend for an even 700...
some work from todays "vodka n bench" knock off from duffins whisky and deadlifts... hit planned bench numbers 2x2x155 then build up some singles to 160,165, missed 170 OD'd on shot size, also happy to squat over 200 again with a 230 in sleeves, going to build this up now to 250 odd before looking at wraps gooood!
hard yards today at shed walrus, we decided to use the man bar now on pulls 34mm fat ass un-bendable bar of peace, gunna make the oki deadlift bar feel like a toy at comp time...
this is the money...rust,steel,bent bars, doorless garages and zero walk outs! 2hrs on balls out squatting (and abit of bench) with the lads...walrus and ezyE going toe for toe up then down the chain while the chopper the human brick pumped out 6 pr beltless working sets and a serious negative way past ipf depth, also happy to work back to 200 pain free post snap city....yeoow! cuts deeps to be owned in my own shed though...
cracked tonight 4ish weeks since the 1st quod snap city, could not take another bloody day of repping the bar then 60 then a million leg extensions....
last week all discomfit subsided so the time is good to start again, with 3 weeks until GPC nats the dream of 290 is gone but god damn it feels amazing to squat 4odd plates again!!
all right ball bags, its been ages between action from the nz garage lifting scene, but it has been business as per norm with weekly gathers (sundays 3pm) now we have also added a "friday fight night" (7-9pm) weekly hit out to the roster which is heavy squats and abit of bench....so if any of you other half squatting, mirror hugging show boats are keen to get involved hit us up...

went down for minatory 5-7 odd working sets on 220kgs, first 4 on point, then blew it on 5th, just got tired and sloppy! so added 10kgs and did another set at 230 as punishment for sins of hoff....
also did some myth busting on the aged old wise tale you hear a good few times a month on the youtubes..." i cant hit depth until 250 in these wraps".....
FINDINGS: depth was hit with body weight in a tank pair of harris wrap? what is this wizardry?...the only think that stop you getting down is the pair or lack of swinging between ya legs...
casual little Sunday avo session today for the boys in a transition phase, bit of everything, few pulls below, highlight was a rank attempt from the "Shadow", looking to claim back 3rd spot after loosing it to deano yesterday....

good session today and the start of build ups for the comp season, comp 1. 7-8 odd weeks away GPC Waikato champs, then a week later the Capo Anzac meet, 3 in attendance at the walruses new pad

*walrus is going balls deep weekly adding a rep each session today taped out 280x1
*my self working to a plan this week was 5sets of 3 at 80% (212.5)
*Rua starting to learn the wrap game workin to an easy 170x3
then some fun CG bench to around max to end, with plenty of pinnings on deck!

accountability for ones depth...iv sinned and gone away from my roots of deep squatting, but now I vow to get aleast within 2inch above ipf depth on every rep, the squat must be earned not given, comp time is near, i will be upping squat frequency to hopefully 3x per week, depth cam will be used daily, any high rep will be posted...

*end of july i turn 30 so i will be attempting to squat 300kgs, spotters required
stat bombs as i love stats, average bench for top 6 lifters from GLA bench = 190.8kgs, top 6 average from ipf bench comp from same day 142.5kgs, 142.5kg would of been good for around 7th place at Bench. GLA nz's man for man strongest fed....
and here is a solid 5mins of repping out haha, just missed brock who was 1st off the bat with a solid 3...enjoy

quite one today with 4 of the crew missing....word on the street is there could be a rebel break away garage/carport fed forming? decided to start hitting pulls on sundays as they really need a push 9 weeks out from the GPC New Zealand Waikato champs, vol is low as squats have picked up to 3x a week for the lead in, so one main set of 5 is done, then one other pull movement is selected (today we hit 10 sets of 3 of def pulls - you go - i go etc)....game on today big walruss starts at 240x5, and my self 225x5 (tried a sh*tty half sumo thing today...never again) tough start but game is on!! big deano also gain BOARD status from todays session, well done buddy!
felt on tonight at HQso loaded up to take rank on BW + walked outed, 282.5kgs in the old red wrap, for a season best, still need more depth but not too bad as form was good and sat back with very little knee by my normal standards, how ever best part tonight was my 220 wrapless, 1st time over 200 since injury 1.5 years back, been a huge mental block, but tonight it was crossed, most definitely the highlight squat wise for a long time yeooow!
crew back on deck 2015, 7 or so good buggas turned out today walrus,tom martin/Jesus/dave grohl, hobbit, rooter, pid, chest guard and david hoff Jr, lifters new and old, was in a mad rush and forgot cam but have a few clips of my self squatting 6inch above para!! russ , bigK hitting some slingers and BZ our newest member making it to 160 on 1st hit out on pulls...goood!
solo GLAing today, (un-sure if others still lift) continuing on as per norm, adding 5kgs per week to top set of 5s for squat then a mid week 5x5 -25kgs, going well really easy 240x5 today be it abit hoffy but 32 weeks out from comp its no biggy, bench rep pr 140x7, and 32x100 on the drop back 3/4 pump set - chest near exploding point after that
a slot has been opened with the movement of other comps, so now we get to find out who the true king of the bench is.....check it! will prob cap at 20 wouldbe lifters, point systems on each lift - 0-20, bench one wilks, bench 2 most iron moved and bench 3 on reps, prize for man + woman straight cash money - $10 buy in
again most away, how ever if any of you pin dick rubber necks want to man up and smash some iron the prez will be lifting from 3, all welcome.....
