Explanation for anyone interested below:

I am a very health-conscious individual and thatā€™s reflected in all aspects of my life. I have an herbal remedy business Holistic Apothicaire from which I use my knowledge of holistic and natural health practices to help out people here locally. Any of my clients could probably quote me at one time or another making sure to verbally specify to them that ā€œI am extremely conscious of the fact that I do not know everythingā€ as I explain to them that Iā€™ll need to reference some of my medical books and do some more research before giving them further advice.
That being said, recently I made a new discovery in my health journey that unfortunately affects my baking directly.
Previously I had been baking donuts using:
No Dairy,
No Eggs,
No Sugar Cane,
No Preservatives,
Only Organic and Non-GMO Ingredients.
And unfortunately, believe it or not, thatā€™s still not ā€œcleanā€ enough.
I am actively learning new depths to the toxic food tragedy that is the US everyday, and this most recent discovery is ā€œsugarā€ itself.
As I said, I had not been using Cane Sugar in my baking, instead I was using Honey and Coconut Sugar. As I was in the understanding that only Cane Sugar was truly harmful. Therefore, I was really excited at the idea of being able to share these healthy treats with others, and thus offering them a solution to the problem that is the lack of healthy ā€œtreatā€-like options locally.
As Iā€™ve come to find out, sugar is a lot more complicated than ā€œgoodā€ or ā€œbadā€. The naturally occurring sugars in fruits can still cause problems. The ā€œzero calorie ā€œ sweeteners have toxic food adatives. Everywhere I look for alternatives I am running into one problem or another.
The reason I came to this discovery is because I myself am currently in a very sudden bad-way health wise. As I do with my clients, I began doing some critical thinking and trying to figure out what could be causing the problems Iā€™m having. My research lead me down this path of concluding that I believe ā€œsugarā€ is the cause of all of it, even though I havenā€™t had any Cane Sugar in a very long time. I use Honey all throughout the day however, and Iā€™m learning how it affects blood sugar and your gut health unfortunately.
Iā€™ve chosen to start a detox today, to try and reset my body and flush out the excess sugars and toxins, and I believe that should help me a lot.
I could always continue baking the way I have been and just not eat the donuts myself, but that would be pretty messed up for me morally.
I donā€™t want to sell anyone anything that Iā€™m not 100% sure is good for them. So Iā€™ll keep this page updated as my progress for new recipes comes along šŸ¤
