The Little Bunting Bird

Just a little excited that I bought a raffle ticket at the gorgeous ' Parlour Made' in Beccles. I won the hugeeee bag for stashing that fabric I definitely did not buy..🤣
Current plan is to crawl in it myself and hide!

Another two lovely hours yesterday in Beccles sewing group. We have a project this time. Whereas others got straight on with it, I spent most of the time having tons of ideas and getting them straight in my head then on paper 🙈. For me it's all in the planning 🤣. It's a tote bag but made up with 18 squares of totally different types of stitching and creativity in any form, however we wish. We all have our themes. Mine is...ME! (Why not!). So each square will represent something in my life I love. I may not even use the bag 🤣 but it hasn't half given me ideas for other projects already!

Another sewing class to look forward to next Saturday for a couple of hours. Best be thinking about the homework then! 🤔☺️ Meanwhile I have been knitting lol, managed to mess that up nicely 🙄. Not much time for anything else recently with a very busy few weeks on the Mum and other appointments front! Picture of the cute helper stopping me from anything and everything!

No actual sewing to report. Also gutted I missed out on some amazingly priced fabric on Friday...but, did I NEED it? No...would I have loved it? Yes 🙄🤣
So instead, I am using my remedy to my poor circulation as an excuse to knit two rows of a new scarf every time I sit (which is rare!) The son has also been knitting a scarf. So technically I have been spending more time rescuing stitches and untangling wool than actually knitting. So with that, and the cat loving to help...🤣

Well although Mum can't really see a book properly, and wasn't tooooo sure on what I had lovingly stitched her, (bookmark).It was worth the toil and hours relearning stitches I'd forgotten about. A little primary school standard possibly, but still something a little different!

Not bunting, but I attended a 'Mindful Stitching' class yesterday, for the second time. Met some lovely people, and we all made something that I sort of managed to complete, along with many laughs and slight stress (which we thought was rather ironic bearing in mind we were there to chill and learn new things 🤣) However...I came home and last night made a better version of what I'd learned, and I am about to sit and finish it for a small Mothering Sunday gift. It's nothing mega, but it sure did stretch my brain cells!

So each bunting has a minor issue which cannot be seen from a distance and does not affect it. I just cannot charge normal prices!

For the past few days I have been out here every day for a little time, still throwing out, sorting, donating etc. Today is 'older bunting/reject' box hour. Keeping the hugely long 'Happy Birthday' one, recycling some, and generally getting older projects dealt with! Yesterday I managed to finish altering several pairs of jeans into shorts, and shortened some trousers for Mum.

Also am whipping up some new shorter and cheaper buntings this coming week 🥰

Cake helps me tidy. This is one of the best around! When in Beccles, do pop in to grab some yummy goodies! The gf stuff is lush!

The struggle is real..... ?!

Sewing shed update 2!
Still with Dilly's theory ringing in my ears..
"Do you love it, do you use it?.Does it make you smile? If yes, keep it. If no, ditch it!", today is about blitzing more Christmas cards, Birthday cards, Easter home made things...and generally finding things I thought I'd thrown out years ago...but hadn't. Obviously had kept "Just in case"! Well. Just in case has not yet happened...so....out it goes! 😁😁 Hopefully I may be able to fit my knees under the desk by the time I finish this stint!

Sewing shed update. One entire bookshelf and a two drawer unit virtually empty...the massive Clearout has begun! I'm using Dilly's theory

Good Afternoon, Just putting it out there that I do not make Valentines bits, maybe as I am a grouch, maybe as in the past it is not worth my doing, or maybe I just don`t enter into the Commercialism of it, and to me it is just another day haha.

However I do have the Easter bunting you can see, and I may make a few little cute ones for that. They make me smile and I do enjoy doing those. Maybe that is a little contradiction on my part. But hey, that`s how it is! 😊

Having a very nice evening just chilling, chatting, drinking tea and doing craft things with the lovely Tracy. Much, much needed and the next craft already planned. Going to make something very special to me. 😊

Boxing Day chill. I fancied sitting with my cat and taking up cross-stitch again. Needed a new keyring and so made this up. ☺️ She isn't used to being on my lap for this long and only went for the threads a few times! 😻

I have to say it has not been an easy year by any stretch, and I have never felt so un-organised or un-festive. I feel a bit of a Scrooge! However I still intend to keep smiling through, and keep this page running 😊
I haven't even written cards this year, first year ever. But that doesn't stop me wishing you all a Happy festive season! 😊🎄

So I am going through a bit of a tough time. Today was obviously meant to be a non day, where I literally chill for half a day. I've read another book from this incredible author. Started it last night and just finished. I HIGHLY recommended it. Maybe just maybe I will continue to ignore the housework and go sew now!

Sometimes days are productive. Some days not so. This is most definitely not so.
