Massachusetts is up for Impact Friday 💥⬇
is home to 57,000 hunters that contributed $262 to the economy in 2020. Hunting activities in Massachusetts supported over 1,900 jobs, $179 million in retail sales, and $35 million in combined taxes.
There is more information where that came from! Curious about your state, or even congressional district in compared to others? We have that info! Just head on over to our website, or follow the link in our bio.
Today, 11/27/23, is Opening Day of Shotgun season for Deer.
If you plan on enjoying the great outdoors, now thru Dec 31st. please consider wearing some ‘hunter orange’ or other Hi-Vis colors. Please, it’s better to be safe than sorry!!! Also think about putting something bright on your outdoor pets as well, or even a bell!
If you are going hunting, Good luck! Clean harvest, or a clean miss!!
Be careful and mindful of other hunters and what’s behind your target! Once you pull the trigger, you can never take that back.
It’s very easy for hunters and non hunters to both take advantage of all of our open spaces, as long as both groups are mindful that there are others out there!
For all my outdoor peeps,
Only takes 30 seconds,
Send and share!!!!

Allin Frawley for School Committee!!!
(Please like and share!!!)
Hi Everyone!
My name is Allin Frawley, and I would like to let everyone know that I am running for the Middleborough School Committee.
There are three spots that are available this election. One position is for the unexpired term of 2 years and two positions are for full 3-year terms. I am running for one of the full 3-year terms.
I live in Middleborough with my wife Lorraine, my daughter Kennedy (7th grade), and my son Sullivan (5th grade). We also have two dogs, Spartan and Thunda.
I decided to run after speaking with my family and friends. I believe that I can make a positive contribution to the School Com and the Community as a whole.
I currently serve on the Planning Board, and have served on many Committees, Boards, and Commissions, most notably serving on the Selectboard for over 9 years.
Both of my children attend the Public Schools in Town and play sports in the Town leagues and the School leagues. I have also Coached in the Town Soccer League going on 10 years now.
As a member of the Selectboard I was an original member of the High School Building Committee and have worked closely with the School Committee on many different issues over the years. I have a good relationship with the Town Manager, and Department Heads in Town and am very familiar with our local and State legislators, and administrators.
I believe that we need to provide the best possible educational experience that we can, and need to give our children every opportunity to succeed, in whatever path they choose.
I know there are many issues that we are facing, and I look forward to discussing these with you. Feel free to contact me at [email protected], or (508) 243.7072
I sincerely ask for your vote on April 1st.
Thank you,
Allin Frawley
It’s almost like the new Train Station was a bad idea, right from the beginning…
Most towns are going along with the state’s new multifamily housing law. Not Middleborough. The South Coast town emerges as an early holdout against new law requiring communities served by the MBTA to zone for more dense housing.

DANGER: IT IS NOT SAFE TO GO ON THE ICE! This blast of cold air has left surface ice on a lot of our ponds and wetland areas. However, it is not thick enough to support the weight of people or pets. Even falling into shallow water with our current weather conditions can cause life threatening hypothermia in a very short period of time. Please be careful around water and contact the Middleborough Fire Department by dialing 911 immediately if someone fails to listen to this message and falls through the ice.
Our daily record low of -32F (set in 1963) has already officially been broken as of 1 pm EST and is expected to plunge even lower overnight. You can track how the low ambient air temperatures will go on our Current Summit Conditions page: https://www.mountwashington.org/experience-the-weather/current-summit-conditions.aspx

They don’t seem to understand why…
As new housing law takes effect, most towns fall in line, for now - The Boston Globe Just seven out of 175 communities that had to submit preliminary plans for the new MBTA zoning law failed to do so by deadline this week, meaning they may lose access to state infrastructure grants and a chunk of funding for their housing authorities.
The Middleborough Fire Department is happy to announce that you can now purchase your residential burn permits on line 24 hours a day at https://middleborough.firepermits.com/ or by using the QR Code pictured below. New for 2023 - we hope this will make it easier for citizens to obtain permits this year.
In person burn permits can still be obtained during at Headquarters during normal business hours of Monday thru Friday, 8AM to 4 PM.

Please join us on February 11th, 1:00 pm, at the Somerset Public Library, 1464 County Street, Somerset, MA. for Jay Cordeiro's program about: "Mussels, America's Most Endangered Group of Organisms." Jay is an exceptional speaker.
We may not know that mussels are America's most endangered group of organisms. Or how important they are. Jay Cordeiro will bring this low personality and easy to overlook animal to life. Many of us know mussels only from stepping on their dried shells with bare feet or as restaurant menu fare that we may or may not want to order. Along pond beaches we see rows of empty shells in a drought.
In a lively presentation, Jay will teach us that there is a lot more to them than that.
We are looking forward to this program partly because last summer we learned how completely he could engage kids in learning when he taught them how to net macroinvertebrates and identify, classify and document them.
All are welcome. There is no admission, and the library is handicap accessible.
Jay is also on TRWA’s Board of Directors, and you may have met him at his booth at the Taunton River Festival for his book business Northeast Natural History & Supply.
This is a program of TRWA's Bruce Spooner Education Center.
Amen
