Positive Mindset for the weekend.
How you do reflect on your growth to keep yourself motivated and pushing towards your goals?
Do you divide your calendar year into Pageant Season and Off Season? That’s a rookie mistake.
Whether or not you have a crown on your head is irrelevant- if another title is in your line of vision (whether it’s local, state, or the coveted national crown) you need to be dedicating the full year towards bettering yourself.
You can’t just step into competition season, whip together your paperwork, schedule a mock interview, and call yourself ready. You need to be dedicating your entire year leading up to that competition by serving the community you hope to represent. You need to be practicing your talent year round. You should be walking in heels, speaking about your platform, and prioritizing your health and fitness.
Some girls get lucky. Some girls win a title on sheer natural ability. But hard work will always get you further.
✨Subtle Reminder✨
Since TPF was started as a New York pageant resource, I will always give unlimited support to any NY locals that are wanting an extra digital hand. Especially if it is going to bring more Upstate ladies to the state stage.
Want to start a local or revive an old title, but feeling overwhelmed? Message me- I can’t direct, but I will support in every way.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
📍Rochester, NY
the Princess of America New York is seeking a few volunteers for backstage help at the State pageant next weekend. Perfect for titleholders in other systems looking to lend a hand.
Excuse me while I break into song, but in all seriousness… your status as a public figure is going to exist whether you realize it or not. Whether you regulate it if not. You can’t win a crown then hide from the spotlight.
A former titleholder messaged me today asking how to repurpose her old page into an advocacy page, and asked for username suggestions. This was very proactive of her, because it’s setting the tone of that account moving forward (without the title attached).
Another former messaged and asked how to integrate pageants into a professional/graduate school resume. Again, this is personal branding. People who don’t understand pageantry could stumble on a photo from google and assume the pageantry misconceptions. It’s up to you to control those perceptions.
Your username is the first thing someone sees (let’s chat non-titleholder accounts real quick). The best option will be your FirstLast or FirstMiddle. Some people include Miss, Advocate, or Official. I prefer advocate, because that’s what you are.
Your bio explains who you are, what you offer (public speaking, talent, etc), and where you are located.
The photographs on the grid are a sneak peak into your life. The stories are a glimmer behind the scenes. Connect with your audience, but also… don’t put stuff out there that you wouldn’t want shown on a projector screen in front of a thousand audience members. Take pride in your content. Take time to curate and create the best work you can to get your message across.
When in doubt, think about Taylor Swift. Everything we know about her, she told us. Every single detail of her life is delicately and intentionally sprinkled onto her social media or allowed access to the media. She’s a mastermind. And so are you. ✨💿⚡️🖤
Cat’s got your tongue?
Titleholders have the unique opportunity to not only lead by example, but truly be a mentor to the next generation and inspire future leaders in the community. Whether you are encouraging participating in pageantry, advocating for your platform, speaking out against unfair policies in your state, or simply reading a book to a class room- your voice is making a difference.
