following up on the last post-
i went back the next night to try to also illuminate the tree that the Ghost Fungi was growing on for context, instead of just showing the bioluminescence of the fungi itself.
i tried using a small torch briefly while the camera shutter was open, but it was too bright, so i ended up just using the screen of my phone which subtly lit up the tree trunk and background foliage nicely actually turned out better

spotted these 'glow in the dark' Ghost Fungus on a bike ride this afternoon and went back after dark for a photo

Sorry to spam you on my photo page, but way before I got into photography I loved DJing. It all started back in 2002 after hosting my own radio show on the local station and went from there as I looked for other ways to blend music together for an audience.
These days I've been doing a few chillout DJ gigs on the South Coast, playing beer gardens, wineries and pool and cocktail bars as BEACHBAR SWING, mixing genres such as Reggae, Lounge, Trip Hop, World music and Electronica while layering live hand drumming, loops and samples over the top to create my own unique sound.
If you think you might like that style of music or event, or just want to support a different sounding DJ/artist on the Far South Coast that is trying to bring something fresh to the entertainment available in the area, maybe check out the FB Page at https://www.facebook.com/beachbarswing

Thanks for your time and support over the years, it does mean a lot, and I'll try to bring you a nice photo or two again real soon 😊

~self portrait~
after taking a break from photography i've started working on a new project, capturing Point Of View visuals of myself riding waves on my bodyboard., one of my favourite pastimes for many years.
after dialling in the camera setup, this is the first shot i've come up with

yes i may be biased but my son is very cute!
my first portrait of him at one week old

21/12/2022

nice to see one of my shots in the new South Coastal magazine,
a fave old image of Bodalla's All Saints Church that I licenced to Eurobodalla Tourism (:

sorry i haven't posted much on here lately.
here's one i shot this week for my "Elements" photo series, while travelling the NSW Mid North Coast

no filters, no editing and no makeup.
just a nice lens and natural beauty,
straight out of the camera.

did you see all that sea mist this morning?
it was so thick it rolled from the beach deep into the forest, so i went to one of my fave spots to check it out and get a shot.
ended up being late for work but i think it was worth it

19/11/2021

has been good to be able to travel a little further again.

always cool to hear from happy clients who are stoked on my work.
another print done up nice and big.
this one was for their two young sons' room, and was shot at Durras Beach just after sunrise

how we perceive things is all relative and may be an illusion.
just because we see things one way does not necessarily mean we are right.
i've been experimenting with creating a photo upside down, that at first glance looks like it is the right way up.
this is my first attempt

some days seem better than others.
today wasn't exactly one of the best ones i've had, but on the plus side i finally got to reshoot this old shed i've wanted to return to for ages.
proof that every cloud has a siver lining somewhere i guess.
so if you've had a rough day (or week, year, life etc) please hang in there! and if your day was great, just keep being nice to others (:

another one of my images being used for the latest Eurobodalla Shire Newsletter.
This shot is from a chilly morning on the good old Moruya River, and is featured on both the heading banner and the envelope itself

06/06/2021

one of my images has been used as a splashback display in a newly renovated kitchen. cool idea.
the client was after certain colours rather than specific content, and selected an ocean sunrise with sea mist.
i think it turned out great!

don't forget to have a peek at the moon tonight, which is apparently a rare 'super blood moon' and there will also a lunar eclipse starting around 7.45pm.
- pic : watching it rise at South Durras this evening
