(Hayesville) - - Robbinsville Junior Golfer Isaiah Brown is headed to the NCHSAA 1-A Golf Championship tournament (two-day tournament) at Seven Lakes in the Pinehurst system of courses. Brown carded a 78 for the day at Mountain Harbor Golf Course off Lake Chatuge near Hayesville. He went to the state tournament last year as a sophomore. Brown says he is ready to compete. Mitchell County took first place as a team and individual. Mitchell’s Connor Warren carded a 68 to lead all golfers. Mitchell placed first as a team with 301. Mountain Island Charter placed second at 319. Cherryville placed third at 320. These three school will take their golf team to the championship tournament next week.

(Hayesville) - - Robbinsville’s Isaiah Brown cards 78 for 18 holds in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association’s 1-A Regional Golf Tournament held at Mountain Harbor Golf Course near Hayesville. There are 18 golfers from six Smoky Mountain Conference schools. Brown has a good score as golfers finish and may repeat a visit to the 1-A Championship Tournament at Seven Lakes near Pinehurst.
