The Crafty Chinchilla
By blending a variety of styles, The Crafty Chinchilla creates ecclectic and unique one of a kind pieces for both everyday wear and special occasions.
Materials are sourced from both new and repurposed items to create a distinguished and refined look.

I have gotten a bit behind with posting pictures of new things, so here are some pics of new stuff 😬
I have other new items I have been working on as well and will be posting them soon.
Earlier this year, my main focus was healing from a very toxic and abusive relationship and trying to manage anemia that left me completely exhausted. After iron infusions and the addition of supplements, I am feeling much better and hope to be able to keep things under control. I also had to make a job change because what I was doing was no longer working for me financially. My new job is full time, and since it has been about 2 years since I last worked full time hours, it has been quite the adjustment.
I am now at a point where I have the energy and time to devote to my jewelry once again. It is something that I really enjoy and hate that sometimes life gets in the way and makes it difficult to maintain. I have been making some new pieces lately and look forward to sharing them soon!
Copper wire wrapped Asian coin earrings with deep purple glass beads - loved working on these though that thin wire is tricky to work with. 🤪
While quality is always a priority, perfection is not something I strive for. The random “quirks” in a handmade piece is what gives them their character and creates a much more distinctive look than something that is mass produced by machines. A lot of thought, time, and effort goes into each of my pieces to create something that truly is one of a kind and can’t be replicated.
It’s cold and snowing, so I’m enjoying it from the warmth of my home through the large living room window while using my power drill to make some earrings. ❄️

Taking this mask/glasses holder (yay for the nifty removable rubber things I found to put on the ends!) and several other items to the Arms Around ASD boutique in the Asheville Mall. Perfect timing for the holidays!
Well, this was quite a long unintentional hiatus… I have been dealing with some things in my personal life and spending lots of time on self care and making some important and necessary changes. I can assure you that this little chinchilla still loves to get crafty and is not going anywhere. I have bought some new supplies and will continue to do so for fun new stuffs and such. ☺️
Here is a new mask holder design I have been working on
I’m really excited about my new business cards! They came in plenty of time so that I can hand these babies out in Charleston this weekend. 😎
The Crafty Chinchilla will be heading to the Charleston area this weekend for a small craft fair featuring several talented neurodiverse artists and fellow crafters. The sale will be 3-5 pm Saturday, April 24th at 401 Seacoast Pkwy Mount Pleasant, SC 29464. These are some of my new items that will be available for purchase as well as various other pieces.
Despite the lack of media presence, I can assure you that The Crafty Chinchilla is still quite crafty. Even though I haven’t been posting much lately, I have still been busy making new pieces and will be posting some exciting updates (and photos) soon! 😁
