Chair on a chair anyone? 🧘🏼‍♀️ 🪑

When I first began yoga, I hated it. I felt like I was getting nothing from it. I was used to more energetic workouts. Yoga was boring and slow. But I had heard so much about it, I decided to commit to it for 3 weeks to see what happened.

To my surprise, I fell in love with yoga. It settled my constantly active mind (ADHD anyone?) and helped me learn to be still, even if only for seconds at a time. More than that, it helped me build flexibility and strength in ways other workouts hadn't.

Today, several years later, yoga has become a love language for me. It's taught me the beauty of patience and the power of quiet moments. If you're skeptical about yoga, give it a shot—you might just discover an unexpected passion.

Have you had a similar experience with yoga or another activity? I'd love to hear your story! 🌟

Where are all my fibro warriors at? 🙋🏼‍♀️ This post is for you!

Living with fibromyalgia is a challenge, but it's not insurmountable. As a fibro warrior myself, I know firsthand how this condition can impact daily life. What many may not realize is that the symptoms of fibromyalgia are not just manageable—they can actually be reversed with some lifestyle changes!

Over the years, I've learned that paying close attention to what I eat and finding ways to move my body in a way that feels good for me (because we're all different and exercise is not a one-size-fits-all kind of thing) have made a world of difference. It’s truly empowering to know that these small adjustments can lead to big improvements.

Everything around us—from the food we consume to our environment and even the household products we use—affects how our bodies function. By becoming more mindful of these factors, we can take significant steps toward better health and well-being.

Remember, you're not alone on this journey. Let's support each other and discover the power of lifestyle changes together. 🌟

I'd love to hear your experiences or questions in the comments below. Together, we can thrive!

I am so inspired by this quote.

Growth mindset is a top value of mine. I believe we should all always aspire to be better versions of ourselves.

Forever learning. Forever growing. Forever becoming better.

Who's with me on this? 🙋🏼‍♀️

Fill in the blank: My favorite way to relax after a long day is ...

27/02/2024

I was recently asked what the best advice I'd ever received was. And I can honestly say not a lot of word for word advice sticks out to me, or sticks with me. I'm one of those people who has to learn the hard way, I guess. 🤦🏼‍♀️

But these words from a close family friend and counselor will forever stay with me: "You've got to figure out why you're attracted to these abusive men. Marriage is not a mission field."

It took a while for those words to sink in. (And by a while, I mean years.) And time for me to recognize and accept the truth of those words.

I've done a lot of work on me since then. A lot of self-reflection and personal development. I am forever a work in progress. But I can say, I have successfully broken that pattern.

What's the best advice you've ever received? I'd love to hear it. ❣️

Bold. That was my word for 2023. I honestly didn't know why. The word just kept coming up, so I let it stay.

Looking back, this year was quite the roller-coaster. Started with a job I loved and poured my heart and soul into. That job ended a few months later, taking a piece of me with it.

Had some new health diagnosis that redefined nutrition for me. (I'm still learning my way through that one.)

Family visiting nearly all summer long and seeing my youngest walk down the isle. Having all 3 of my kids together for the first time in several years. My heart was full!

Hitting my first (and hopefully only) moose. I am now proudly driving my banged up H3 again (after sitting for a few months), dented hood, no grill, and all. What can I say? I love my little bright piece of sunshine! And truth be told, had it been another vehicle, that crash could have been way worse!

A small bout of depression when all the ups and downs finally hit me. Thankfully all the work and personal development I've poured into myself over the years came to my rescue and pulled me out quickly. My past me would have been stuck for months.

I'm still steadily working on my health coaching biz and super excited for things to come.

So, while I didn't know bold was the word I needed for the year, I have no doubt it carried me through and kept me moving forward. And I'm ready to see what 2024 has in store for me!

28/12/2023

Share yours with me, please!
I'll add mine to the comments. I don't want to influence your eyes and brain. 😉

Also, I'm working through my process of finding my word for 2024 and have a pretty good idea of what it will be. I'll share soon!

Myth: Mindful eating means never indulging in treats or comfort food (or drinks).

Wrong! Mindful eating encourages a balanced approach to food, allowing for occasional treats and acknowledging the enjoyment of those treats without guilt or judgment.

This week's newsletter is all about mindful holiday eating. Not on the list? Drop me your email and I'll get you added!

Last couple years I've gone with Passion Planner (which I love). For 2024, I decided to try something new. I can say, I'm loving the color!

Are you a paper planner person or a digital person? What's your fave?

Earlier this year, after many months of frustration with my health, I was diagnosed with SIRS (systemic inflammatory response syndrome). That's the fancy way of saying my body is completely out of whack.

I've spent a lot of time tying to figure out exactly what that means, how it happened when I live a pretty healthy lifestyle, and what might happen if I don't get it under control.

The short version is this: so many things can lead to chronic inflammation and chronic inflammation can wreak all kinds of havoc and contribute to so many diseases.

If you want more info than that, check out my blog. I'll be sharing regularly there as I learn more and find more ways to improve my health.

Did you know some yoga poses, like the ever so popular tree pose, can help those who suffer from things like dizziness, vertigo, disorientation, and poor coordination?

These one-legged balances can also help in:
*Improving your concentration
*Keep your calm
*Strengthen your muscles
*Improve your posture when standing and walking
*Increase coordination

And to think, a doctor once told me yoga wasn't any good because "you just stand there."

Go ahead, strike a pose and share your pics below! Today seems as good as any to "just stand around" on one leg. 😉

Parenting is hard. As a single mom most of my kids growing up years, I definitely made my fair share of mistakes. But I also, somehow, got a lot right.

These 3 here are my whole heart. And proof that I sometimes, somehow, know what I'm doing. I could not be more proud of the humans they have grown into.

So, I thought maybe I'd take my parenting experience and combine it with all my years in mental and behavioral health and create a Family Stress-Relief Challenge. And I want to offer it free to you.

This world can be incredibly stressful, especially in the last few years. So it seems the perfect time to offer a space and plan for families to join together to reduce stress, create memories, and build bonds.

So, my question to you is would you prefer this to include a Facebook group or a forum away from Facebook?
