Unfortunately, local London Irish Bluegrass outfit HUNGRY GRASS are no longer able to bring proceedings to a close this coming Saturday, that's a real shame, however they are booked for next year. At such short notice, it's hard to find a replacement but it still remains an impressive bill and we may have something up our sleeve, anyway. But we are open to suggestions!
This is a timely moment to impress upon everyone involved how important it is acts are there for their allotted time and ready to go on .The schedule, it's very tight and could slip back and go pear shaped and we don't want that!
Update!
A very limited number available on June 8th with The Folk In The Garden at The Wickham Arms, a custom assembled collection of rare and unreleased tracks on a plain white CDR in a protective slip sleeve with this design, the artists and acts, past and present, have each kindly donated their tracks to raise money for Doctors Without Borders / Medicins Sans Frontiers. Name your price for this good cause, but not less than a fiver! Also available as one of the prizes in the pound raffle!
Recommended. Released today and purchased this very morn, find him on bandcamp - one of the key figures on the thriving Brooklyn folk scene.
RIP, Spider John Koerner. Seen here at The Apple Tree, Clerkenwell, London, 2013
RIP Ron Kavana, great nights were to be had at The Duke back in the Eighties with Alias Ron Kavana in the Sunday slot. If I'm not mistaken last time he was in Lewisham was at The Fox And Firkin on a Ron's Speakeasy night, sitting in anonymously with his drummer of old, Les Morgan, with Diz And The Doormen. He shall be missed on the London Irish music scene, indeed the London music scene in general.
Revised final flyer!
On June 8th Jo Honey makes her visit to Folk In The Garden 2024 as a performer, she's also contributed a very nice song with piano for the charity collection!
Meet the team behind The Folk In The Garden!

Basia Bartz - Gdy Przychodzisz | PLECTRUM Basia took us to another world with her Polish language song 'Gdy Przychodzisz' - performed in her residence in the iconic Cable Street Studios.
One of my favourite hikes in the Lake District just north of Borrowdale. I love the views you get of the distant fells as your walk through the amazing woodland.
There is fascinating stuff about a surviving violin in a link in the comments.
Every single one is a hero
‘We’ll play until our teeth drop out!’ The long, remarkable lives of Britain’s Windrush-era musicians Now in their 80s and 90s, having faced down racism and neglect, musicians of Caribbean heritage are still centre stage in the adopted country where they’ve enriched music in so many ways
