GIA short description 2014
Dumortierite, which commonly occurs as a blue borosilicate mineral, is of gemological interest when present in quartzite, making an attractive blue ornamental material. Recently examined by GIA’s Carlsbad laboratory were several examples of dumortierite inclusions in rock crystal quartz provided by Luciana Barbosa (Asheville, North Carolina). Barbosa, the material is re
SAGENITE silver RUTILE in Crystal rock - 2.1ct Bahia Brazil.
The original definition of the name Sagenite was made by Horace Bénédict de Saussure in 1796:
"These small crystals usually cross at the same angles, so as to form a mesh-like network of parallelograms; it seemed proper to me because of this singular property to provide this stone a name; I have named it Sagenite, from the Greek & Latin word sagena, which means net." Mindat.org
NFS (sorry but i do not sell my collection)
Crystals are not always straight. There are also CURVED crystals (asbestiform) : here bicolor orange/yellow amphiboles in Brazilian rock crystal.
Ps: Amphibole in quartz are not rare, not too expensive and very attractive if quartz is perfect and colors are bright.
Those colors are natural, just enhanced with warm LEDs light, no photoshop

fused rutile Ti02 crystals : titanium from rutile colored sapphire in blue around disappeared rutile crystal.
Why gold rutile (in quartz) is so attractive ?
- Because it is like gold in water ? Yes…
- Because it shines as yellow diamond under high light ? Yes (in fact refractive index of rutile is far above diamond)
- Because an humble cabochon can get higher luster than a faceted stone) yes…
For all those reasons, Gold Rutile is favorite choice for most
Ps : of course, we are not talking about low density rutile specimen (as Venus hairs) or piece with cracked milky quartz… just perfect pieces, as those on photo from novo Horizonte, Bahia, Brazil.

Golden brown Goethite/rock crystal pendant.
Goethite is common in quartz (especially in amethyst) as « plumets » shaped crystals (sprays).
This specimen in rock crystal (Uncolored quartz) is rare.
Refractive index of Goethite is under rutile and with experience easy to distinguish from.
(Commonly confused with cacoxenite as inclusions in quartz, but there is no cacoxenite IN quartz : ON yes, but not IN)

Orange hematite crystals/clean quartz necklace
Color of hematite crystals depends of thickness : from yellow (thinner ones) to orange, red and finally black (bluish black if very thick).
So if medium color is orange, color varies from yellow to red, Without ugly black crystals 👍🏻
Hard to photography because of record refractive index of hematite
