Twelve years ago, I began taking pottery classes at Rift Valley Academy in Kenya; I've been throwing things almost ever since! I then went to Union University in TN for a bachelor of arts degree in the visual arts, with an emphasis in ceramics and certification to teach K-12 art. Since then, I taught art and pottery for two years in Kenya, and I cur
$30-33 each, 5 available at 12:25 pm EDT on 10/3/23
Measurements vary around 8” wide by 2.5” tall (click the pics for actual dimensions of each bowl).
Speckled clay and frosty glaze are a winning combination! ❤️ These serving bowls will fit into any home with a clean, gracious air. The colors are speckled, snowy white-to-grayish, with a gingerbread rim. The bowls have a 1-to-1.5 quart capacity (the bowls vary a bit)—the perfect size for serving a side dish. OR...use it for oodles of homemade cranberry sauce--my favorite--for a large, festive gathering. Ooh, how pretty!!!
Happy Saturday, friends! Here are the rest of my collection of freckled cream mugs. As the days (seemingly) become ever-so-slightly cooler here in KY, I'm quickly reverting to my afternoon cup of chai...And these mugs are absolutely feeling very excited about holding chai, coffee, cider, or the like. The day is fast approaching when they will no longer sit idly on my shelf!
I hope you have a beautiful afternoon! Time for tea here. :)
$40, 1 available as of 12:40 pm EDT on 9/27/23. 6” tall x 6.5” wide.
I just enjoyed a much-coveted rain (is it over already?), bolstering my hope for a couple more weeks of zinnias! Thus, I want to introduce you to this delightful vase. This is my first ever elephant orb vase, and what fun I had designing it and trying it out with flowers from my yard! The excitement level was nearly off the charts with this test run. As you can see, the vase can be used a couple of different ways—put a bouquet in the center, and/or arrange individual stems in the holes around the rim. The elephants march ‘round in admiration of the cheery blossoms. The glaze color is ivory, which quite fits the stamped design! There’s some sweet freckling from the clay.
I made this using a pinched clay method (not on the wheel). I assembled two pinch pot bowls, lip-to-lip, and then I added a foot ring and cut out the top of the hollow sphere.
$24 each, 6 of 10 available mugs are shown here. Feel free to claim any (note the # on the photo collage!). I'll add the remaining 4 ASAP.
Trace the subtly textured playful swirls around these mugs as you sip your favorite hot beverage! These are comfy in the hand and eager to serve, and the freckled ivory theme is sure to fit into any home. A friend recently said it reminds her of a toasted marshmallow, and I think that's a perfect description of the cream glaze on my speckled clay! It's so warm and inviting.
Good afternoon! I just wanted to let you know that I have TEN of these twirly, freckled mugs for sale. 🤗 $24 each. They haven't all been photographed yet (there are slight variations in height, capacity, and placement of the impressed lines), but capacity varies between 12 and 16 oz. They are a light cream/ivory color, speckled deliciously by the clay under the sleek glaze! I created the playful lines in the wall of each mug as a final step in my throwing* process: after thinning and pulling the walls to my liking, I used my hands (from within) and the edge of a wooden tool (from without) to impress an undulating line in the outside of the slowly spinning pot. I enjoy the feel of that texture in my hands, as well as the extra character it adds to the cup.
*In case you're new around here or less familiar with pottery terms, to "throw" a pot is to make a pot on a wheel. It begins with actually throwing the clay down, but the remainder of the time turning and shaping the vessel is also part of throwing it.
Updating to say that I have FIVE of these currently (9/26/23), although I haven't photographed all of them. Feel free to inquire further on the others, but they are very similar to these.

I’m REALLY sorry for leaving you all in the dark over here on my pottery page! If you were getting curious, I hope that you snooped around enough to see that things have been going well…Very, very well!
Meet our precious daughter, Karis Elise Flint!! She’s almost six months old now! We’ve been with her since her second day, and her adoption was recently finalized. I could say so much about Karis, and so much about these six months, but I’ll try to keep this short. God’s grace has been so visible in this little girl. Our days have been sweetened indescribably. We couldn’t dream of a more cheerful baby, and I couldn’t have traded my pottery work for a more worthwhile, enjoyable job.
I hope to make some particular items before the holidays, so don’t unfollow this page if you’re hoping to see pottery again! The remaining pots in the “Mugs” and “Everything Else” albums are still available. If you see something there that you’d like, go ahead and message this page (no custom orders). I appreciate you all and am grateful to share some happy glimpses of life lately (from February onward) with you! I hope you’ve been having a good year, as well. Feel free to message your own updates to me—I miss interacting with the keepers of my pots! 🫶🏻

Hey friends! It probably goes without saying, but I haven’t been as active in promoting my pottery lately—adoption excitement is more than a little distracting! 🥰 And I’m [more than] okay with that!
In case you’ve been following along, here’s my newest 👉🏼adoption update👈🏼 —found in the link below. It includes memories from a recent trip, special sightings of goodness along our adoption journey, fun little updates (31 weeks now!), and registry links. Scroll down to “Views along the way.” If reading on a phone, turn it sideways for easier reading.
It still feels like a dream, but it’s getting real! 🥹
(Also, let me know by Wednesday (ready to send payment immediately) if you need any pots shipped for Christmas! Time is short…)

$24 each, 3 available at 6:15 PM Eastern, 11/26.
5.5” wide by 0.24” tall.
When pondering whether these are “white elephant” trivets, or “ivory” trivets, I’m forced to pick the latter, based on the color of the luscious cream glaze. The first idea does, of course, make me smile. As do these elephants, at the thought of guarding a table from heated pots! 🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘
$20 each, OR 2 for $36. 6 available at 6 PM Eastern, 11/26. 5.75” wide and 0.25” thick
These sturdy clay trivets look forward to adorning tables! They’ll gladly protect that surface, taking the weight and heat of pots and bowls filled with good food. The warm, speckled clay and grass impression (glazed in cream) will fit into any color scheme and are suitable for use year-round! They call to my mind: ”The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.” (Isaiah 40:8)
Want to know what I almost did with these, as I was making them, though? I almost stamped a tiny elephant next to the grass…I was feeling punny but didn’t know if “elephant grass” was as familiar a thing here as it is in East Africa, or whether anyone would find it as amusing as me. 😏 Anyways, bring on the hot, cozy meals of wintertime!
$30-33, depending on size. 5 available.
Measurements: 8.25/8.75” wide by 2.75/3.4” tall.
Speckled clay and frosty glaze are a winning combination! ❤️ These serving bowls will fit into any home with a clean, gracious air. The colors are speckled, snowy white-to-grayish, with a gingerbread rim. These bowls have a 1, to 1.5-quart capacity (slight variations in size—tap each photo collage for that bowl’s specifics). I feel that these are very ideal sizes for serving bowls without becoming too hefty!
Good afternoon! I hope your Thanksgiving was warm with reminders of goodness and grace to you, and whether you’re in a season of drought or bountiful harvest, may peace and hope be yours and will accompany you into the Christmas season.
I’m not inclined to ask you to buy more pottery, as I know finances are extra tight this year, and hopefully, you’re finding some brilliant, feasible ways to bless the people on your shipping list! However, *if* you’re local and inclined to do some in-person shopping, I wanted to let you know that I’ll be setting up shop again 🌟tomorrow🌟 at Colonial Gardens (by Iroquois Park) from 10 to 2. Several small businesses from Louisville’s south end will be there with their shops, too! I wanted to put this on your radar if you’re nearby and hopeful to find some additional items while supporting local businesses. I’ll put a link below to the event’s page.
Whatever you’re up to this weekend, I wish you well!! ❤️

Friends, my cup is full of thanks!! Your encouragement and support of my work mean so much to me, and it never ceases to amaze me that people around the world are eating and drinking out of items that I once shaped out of mud. 🤯 It’s an honor to know my handiwork is being put to good use, and it’s amazing that your purchases help out with such things as…adoption expenses! For those who are new here, my husband and I were chosen by a sweet mama to adopt her baby girl, due February 11 💗. I actually got home from a 28-week appointment trip last night: everything looks good! So again, I’m ✨thankful✨—for those of you whom I’ve only met over the internet; for my dear friends and family; and for the Master Potter who sustains and shapes us according to His good purposes.
I’m taking Wednesday and Thursday off from pottery. Local friends, I’ll be setting up shop at Colonial Gardens this Saturday from 11 to 2 with other small businesses—come say hi! In the meantime, please claim whatever pots you might need, and when you do, remember to send your shipping address in a message to this page. I‘ll be happy to respond on Friday and answer any questions then. Happy Thanksgiving! 🍁

$55, one pitcher available, but a similar pitcher is available (more green/less red). Almost 1.5 quarts.
Cups are $24 each and hold 8-12 oz—there are several available.
From their twirling forms to their cheery glazes, these pots are sure to brighten any table! The rippled wall of the cups fits so comfily in my hand, and the pitcher has that nifty thumb rest to add ease in pouring. A deep ruby glaze lines the inside and lower outside, and the top is veiled in a variegated green that dances with varying amounts of teal, ochre, and brushes of lavender! These all sell separately, but I’ve been a bit short on time, so here they are, all together (they do appear to enjoy being together). I’ll add a few additional photos of the pitcher and cups in the comments below this post.
$26 each, 2+ available as of 2 PM Eastern, 11/22/22
12 oz capacity
If you’ve been following my work for a while, you might recognize this freckled, cream-colored mug—I made a huge quantity of them several years ago, and they belong to a number of my good friends. I have a number of these now, and this newer version is glazed in a slightly brighter, cream-toned glaze with brown accents. Aren’t the speckles (a feature of the clay) simply delicious? 😋
When making these pots on the wheel, as it was still spinning, I used my fingers to create a randomly undulating impression on the outside of the wall. This results in a meandering line that wraps around the mug, adding personality—and a fun feel in your hands.
$45 each, two available at 1 PM Eastern, 11/22.
8.25/8.5” wide x 3” tall. 🍃 🍁
See previous post for a slightly smaller bowl ⬇️ .
These bowls flew off my shelves last year, so you might want to send a message right now if one of these bowls is calling your name! These lovely dishes are somehow both earthy and richly exquisite, like autumn! They’ll be thrilled to serve at any meal--not just the Thanksgiving mashed potatoes (IF you’re local, come get it today for Thanksgiving 😉). It’ll also serve up salads, other sides, and main dishes year-round in a charming fashion! The deep, matte, chocolatey clay contrasts wonderfully with the glossy orange-to-cream leaves (with hints of green). I lined the inside of the bowl with a cream glaze to show off whatever food you place in it! Swooshes of shiny copper lightly adorn the lower outer wall.

Hi friends! I’m sorry to say that I’m taking a break from online sales between now and November 22. While burning the candle at both ends to prepare for the local market* event, there just isn’t time for my online interactions and sales. ⚠️ Items in my albums may or may not continue to be available (taking all to the market). ⚠️ There may be some new pottery available again the week of Thanksgiving, but it’s really hard to say right now, so please check this page (or hit the “follow” button) on the 22nd and onwards, if you planned to do some Christmas shopping here!
It pains me to do this, but know that I hope to make a little bit more pottery at that time! Local events are few and far between for me, and I’m SO excited about this one…there’s nothing like meeting new friends in person before they take my pots home. 🥰 Thanks for understanding!

about First Mate’s Market,
in Louisville on 11/19/22. 🛥🌲
With the adoption of a precious baby in our near future, this is likely to be my last really big pottery push for a while! ❤️ The days are flying by as I make pots for this awesome holiday market aboard the Belle of Louisville. Louisville locals, mark your calendars! A variety of my pottery products will be available, including some totally new-to-my-shop items! Expect to see: spoon rests, KY ornaments, mugs, serving bowls, teapots, vases, and…nativity luminaries! 🤩 Some of these are exclusively for this event, but whatever doesn’t sell will become available online. I’m truly sorry for any disappointment there!
This sort of thing makes me SO excited. Maybe I’ll see you there? 🤗
This is NOT a ticketed event—all aboard! 🛥
Edit: SOLD, all
$35 each. 12.5” diameter x 1” high
This clay-glaze combination is reminiscent of the beauty of freshly fallen snow—or light, sweet frosting on gingerbread. 😋 This plate is a delicious addition to any home, in neutral frosty white and light brown. The surface is textured, collage-like, with a vintage crocheted design, polka dots, and leaf accents. This dish would gladly serve cookies, act as a veggie tray, etc; it’s also perfect for decorating that bare spot on your wall (with a simple plate hanger from Hobby Lobby). 😊
The texture wouldn’t be as practical for saucy dishes, but if you can’t resist eating spaghetti on it, a good soak and run through the dishwasher will make it good as new!
Happy Friday, friends! I hope you can get outside and explore autumn, OR cozy up and enjoy some rest, this weekend. I’m adding four more spoon rests to the listing that’s in the “Everything Else” album, so if your spoons are restless, or you need a cute spot to set other utensils while in use, hop over there with the link in the comments. The glaze is frosty white with hints of light brown, speckled clay showing through. These are generously sized and ready to offer moral support in every kitchen endeavor! ❤️
Cups: $25 / Mugs: $36; capacity varies (find in the caption of each picture—captions may take me an extra minute to add!)
Autumn has begun its crescendo here, building rich harmonies in trios and quartets of sunset hues and breezes. Fall foliage is still as magical to me as it was when I first heard of it as a little girl in Uganda...I remember Mama showing me the pictures from an American calendar of fall scenery. It was so different from any of East Africa's own glorious (and incomparable) beauty! What intrigued me then became quite special as I became acquainted with fall, each sunset-hued leaf a work of art powerful enough to stir my emotions (I get a bit sappy in the fall).
Also, autumn mugs and cups have arrived!! I love the rich, dark chocolate clay (with subtle copper sheen) and its matte contrast with the shiny autumn leaves. I lined the inside and lip of each pot with a cream-colored glaze, and each vessel’s sides are dimpled to fit comfily in your hand. Pure coziness!
Half an hour, friends! In case there are more of you than pots 🙈 (so sorry), here’s how to claim them, and these are the SAME as what is in my newly pinned post from yesterday. If you’ve read that already, you’re all set:
1) Click through the pictures to see the cost (mugs=$32, cups=$24), capacity, etc of an item (read the captions). I will write “sale pending” at the top of its caption, if someone has already claimed a pot.
2) Find something you want? Quickly comment your intent to purchase on that photo, or send a screenshot of that item in a private message to this page. 📩
3) Immediately send your desired shipping address (with pic of desired item, or having commented on that picture) so I can calculate your total and let you know how to pay. 👉🏼If Frost Flint Pottery doesn’t receive your address within 36 hours of your initial comment/message, someone else will be allowed to buy that item. 📫
4) I will package and ship your pottery after receiving payment (PayPal, card, or mailed check). 📦

Thank you for being so gracious in my absence. What a glorious time it was, seeing the majesty of God’s creativity in another part of this country! I’m so grateful for safety on our long road trip, for friends who made the journey even more beautiful, and for the time and resources to be able to go. The Grand Canyon was certainly grand, and there are simply no words to describe the grandeur of Zion and Bryce Canyons, or the yellow aspens of Colorado. 😍 My heart is still brimming with joy from the exploring we got to do. If that interests you, I hope you’ll someday have the opportunity!
I’m back to work for real now. 👉🏼 I’ll post a few autumn mugs and cups here tomorrow, Wednesday, at 12 PM Eastern Time. Please refrain from making any claims before that time! If you’re seeking an autumn mug ($32) or cup ($24), set yourself a reminder to check this page at noon Eastern Time tomorrow! 🕰

Hi friends, old and new! The past couple of weeks have been a flurry of clay-prep, pot-throwing, flower-picking, and excitement. Here's a bit of news, including something you might want to put on your calendar, if you're local to Louisville, AND adoption news!
-On November 19, I will be selling my pottery on the Belle of Louisville, which will be docked for its second annual First Mate's Market! From 11 AM to 5 PM, all are welcome to come aboard and do some holiday shopping from a great selection of local small businesses!
- I'm officially beginning a two-week break. I've been creating pots almost around the clock lately--you haven't seen them yet, because I've been concentrating on everything up until the glazing, which I'll take on after my break. If you send a message to this page, know that I won't be able to reply until October 3 (apologies!). I'll resume posting and shipping available items then.
-Adoption news: IT'S A GIRL!!!! For those who've been following along, praying, and contributing to our adoption, thank you ever so much! I'm adding a link in the comments for anyone who would like to read the latest update (scroll down to "Special Details" on that page for the update).
Photo descriptions: 1) Me, bone-tired and feeling accomplished after a humid, 90-ish degree day of work in our garage. There's a sneak peak of something special I've been working on in that same photo. :)
2) Me, enjoying my flower garden's bounty, and ecstatic over the news of a baby girl!
You are such an encouragement to me. I'm excited to make more pots for you, and to finish the mountain of items that are waiting to be glazed...After my break. ;) I hope your next couple of weeks are beautiful and bright in their own unique ways!
Blessings,
Rebekah Flint
Welcome to Frost Flint Pottery! If this is your first time visiting my little corner of FB, I'm sorry that I'm not here to greet you. I'll return to checking my messages and selling pottery on Monday, October 3. In the meantime, feel free to browse available inventory--found in the albums titled "Mugs," and "Everything Else." More items will be fired and available following my return!
I hope you have a beautiful couple of weeks! May there be moments for soaking up the lingering summertime goodness, even as you anticipate autumn's cooler, golden days.
Should I make some of these cups WITHOUT handles?
Would you be more likely to purchase a cup (or cups) kinda like this hand-drawn one without a handle, for $24? More likely than the handled version, for $32? I'm considering making some cups (tumblers) in the same style. They may be slightly narrower in form (for extra ease of use), but equally leafy and lovely! I do wonder, though--would people besides me want to use them, without a handle? The cups themselves are extremely comfy to hold (although they'll be quite hot to the touch, filled with freshly boiled water). Like I said yesterday, handles are a lot to fuss with, especially with this fine, chocolatey clay!
You aren't committing to purchasing anything by answering--but please answer honestly: would you be more likely to choose the handle-LESS cup (for $24) over the mug (for $32)? Perfect for slightly cooled hot drinks, juice, milk, water, whatever!
Please pardon my sketchy graphics, blurry text, etc! Eeek.
THANKS SO MUCH for your input and encouragement!!
Greetings, friends! I've been thoroughly enjoying making autumn-themed pottery for you, and I'm excited to announce that items like these, among other things, will be available in early October! For your budgeting and planning purposes, I want to tell you in advance that the serving bowls will be $42-48, depending on size, and the huggable mugs will be $32.
This silky, chocolatey clay has become one of my favorites. It's a joy to shape on the wheel, with its smooth elasticity, and it provides beautiful contrasts in color and texture with certain glazes. However, it has a cost--in the wet clay stage, those fine particles impart dark brown residue under my nails and IN my cracking fingerprints for days at a time, despite careful washing (and frequent hand cream/lotion). The freshly made pots seem to feel the same way about me--it takes extra effort to hide the glaring marks of anything that might lightly touch the pots in the first couple of days after they were thrown. And, well, when I attach handles and/or stamp the leaves, I leave LOTS of unaesthetic marks, ha... The fineness of this clay has its particularities, and my hands feel a little extra worn from it, and my work space is a little extra muddy--but I know it'll be worth it to see these fine pots through to their glorious end!

Please help me, friends! My problem: I've made waaaaay too many different kinds of pitchers in recent years, and I want to pick a select few to focus on for the next couple of months. I'd love it if you'd help me decide which types of pitchers to pour myself into (in addition to whatever else I'll make).
If you were going to choose a pitcher (for yourself or for a loved one), and if money weren't an issue, what would you choose? Follow the link to answer. Please comment here if your answer is based on any of the "alternate" descriptors of the pitchers you chose. Thanks for your input!!
Which pitcher would you pick? You can answer based on the actual image, or from the alternate options described; but please let me know how you chose your answer(s)! Are you more drawn to the shape or to the color(s) and/or imagery?
To order an item:
1) Comment your intent to purchase on a photo of the item(s). Use clear wording and, on a photo of multiples, indicate how many you want.
2) Send me your shipping address at your earliest convenience so I can calculate shipping costs--use the "send message" button.
3) I will send payment info so you can pay via PayPal. ***If you don't send your address within 36 hours of commenting, I will allow someone else buy that item***
I'll ship your pottery after receiving payment.
Louisvillains are welcome to shop in person! Message me to set up a time.
When items have been purchased, they will disappear from the album. As I photograph new mugs, they'll appear here. Message me with questions! Find policies/shipping/care info on the "About" page.
Hello, lovelies! I'm sorry it's been a while. I've been making pots, wrapping up pottery classes, planning future pots, and...soaking up the achingly precious news that a birthmother has chosen me and my husband to adopt her baby, due early next year!!! 🥲🥰 For those who'd like to follow along, an adoption update is on the way...And I'll definitely post some ✨ POTTERY ✨ updates in the near future. I'm going to start focusing my creative attention on a list of particular items for the next few months, and you will have the opportunity to pre-order the things that strike your fancy. This means I am stepping away from the custom work I've dabbled in lately (apologies!), but I'm excited about the variety of pieces I'll be making for you and trust that you'll see some old favorites and new delights in the near future! I may also ask for your input as I make my pottery plans, so keep an eye out for some polls. Of course, I want to make the things that you want. So stick around! And, by all means, if you see an available item in my albums ("Mugs," and "Everything Else") that you'd like to purchase, please let me know. Captions give the important info.
Thanks for reading--and for all the ways you encourage my heart with your comments, likes, shares, and purchases! You really are dear to me. The months ahead feel very particularly special, and I'm excited to give a noble effort to some special batches of pottery for your enjoyment.

Our Story
< Find POLICIES below the following paragraph >
Fifteen years ago, I began taking pottery classes at Rift Valley Academy in Kenya; I've been throwing things almost ever since! I then went to Union University in TN for a bachelor of arts degree in the visual arts, with an emphasis in ceramics and certification to teach K-12 art. Since then, I taught art and pottery for two years in Kenya, and I currently teach pottery classes at Beechmont Community Center in Louisville. Thanks to learning from the best teachers, I love passing on the joy of making pottery--and I'm having the best time furthering my love for clay by making new work and placing it in the hands of others!
POLICIES
Payment can be made via PayPal or a mailed check. If you are local to Louisville, you may use a check or cash. Pottery is shipped after payment is received.
Pottery is insured and shipped by USPS Priority Mail or UPS Ground. In most cases, orders will ship within one week after I have received payment. If you need your pottery to arrive more quickly and can pay more for shipping, please let me know. Tracking information will be sent to the customer when the order ships. If pottery is damaged in shipping, notify me immediately so that I can report it.
Due to the nature of handmade items, you may find nuances and slight irregularities in the form or surface of a pot or glaze. I prize quality in my work, and handmade marks are an intrinsic part of that quality. This is a joy to be embraced! Perfect [boring] dishes can be bought at Target :)
SAFETY AND CARE
You, too, can safely use pottery in your everyday routine! I follow the manufacturers' firing recommendations for my clay and glazes; and the glazes are lead free and food safe. Unless I say otherwise for a particular item, please use my pottery for your coffee, snacks, and any meal you like (but coffee is better in a mug than in a plate) :)
I want my pottery to serve you well for as long as you'll have it! Pottery is generally microwave- and dishwasher-safe! Having said that, give a little more kindness to pottery than to your average dishes to prolong its life. Dishwashers may etch glaze, as they do glass, over a long time. On a cold day, consider using warm or hot water to preheat a pot before pouring boiling liquid into it. DO NOT set pottery on the eye of the stove. It's safe to microwave a mug or bowl full of food or drink, but take care when microwaving on a plate. Heat typically isn't distributed as evenly across a plate, and extremely hot spots on an otherwise cool piece of pottery MIGHT cause it to crack.
