Yesterday we had the pleasure of being handed off the helmet from Bourne Local 1717 for Dale Melanson, a Plymouth firefighter battling ALS. Today we handed the helmet off to Joint Base Cape Cod. The helmet is being passed around to local departments on and off cape to raise awareness to ALS. Thank you Plymouth fire for letting us be a part of this great cause.
Sadden to hear of the passing of Chief Jenkins from West Barnstable. Many members got their full time careers from him. He will be a legend in the Cape fire service for years. RIP car 291
This is what being a Firefighter is all about. You are never off duty, while his own house was burning, he jumped into action to save the life of his neighbor. Tip of the helmet to you Dan. Please help if you can read the story below

The Stoughton Fire Department and Stoughton Fire Fighters Local 1512 regret to announce the Line of Duty Death (LODD) of Firefighter Frederick Little after a courageous battle with occupational cancer.
A lifelong resident of Stoughton, FF Little was appointed to the department on January 8, 1989. Freddy made an immediate impact on the department, as he was credited with rescuing a resident from a structure fire on Porter St within his first year on the job. He was also credited with saving a woman from a fire a few years later.
FF Little was extremely well respected within our department, both as a pump operator and as a firefighter. Above all else, he was a great man, and had an innate ability to converse with anyone in his presence.
We ask that you please keep FF Little’s family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate these terrible circumstances. We will make sure to share details and services as they begin to develop.
Details on services to follow.
Some drone footage of the Easter egg hunt the firefighters put on today. Over 6000 eggs were placed on the field. Looks like a great time was had by all.

39-Year-Old Mansfield Firefighter Dies Of Cancer The Mansfield Fire Department announced Saturday morning that 39-year-old firefighter Mike McLaughlin died that morning after a long battle with cancer.
We were pleasantly surprised today with a visit from Austin and Erin Rindfuss from the Riverview School. The fires in Australia prompted discussion at the Riverview School with the Sophomore Class. This discussion turned into what the firefighters in their area do and turned into this delivery of cookies which they baked and decorated with the help of Sarah Simmons, Alisha Protze, Torie Murphy, Liz Coleman and the Sophomore Team. As you can see FF's Thompson and Bess approved. Thank you Riverview School for always supporting our fire department.
