Al Jackson is a candidate for Utah State Senate District 14. He is running to fill the vacancy that Insitu, Inc. His career in Washington, D.C. Mr.
Alvin Jackson currently serves as Principal of his own consulting firm specializing in providing strategic counsel in the areas of leadership, business development, and sales. Strategic counsel is provided in the areas of aviation/transportation, national defense & homeland security. Keeping the War Fighter out of harms way is the primary objective of the clients he represents. He also helps these
entities in the areas of leadership, business development, sales, marketing, operations, and forming strategic relationships with like-minded organizations. Over 20 years of experience has been garnered representing a variety of companies ranging from large system integrators such as Boeing and Northrop Grumman to a myriad of start-ups and small businesses in the aerospace/defense industry. Al served as Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Insitu, Inc. with responsibility for company sales, marketing and government relations. Insitu, Inc., located in Bingen, Washington, is now a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company. Working with senior level Boeing executives across several disciplines was necessary after the acquisition. specializes in the design, development and production of small autonomous aircraft for Unmanned Aircraft Systems for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance in both military and commercial aviation applications. The primary objective for the company was helping our Armed Services keep the War Fighter out of harms way. Tremendous growth in revenue occurred under the leadership of Mr. Jackson, as sales went from $84 million to $254 million in his 2.5-year tenure. Prior to joining Insitu, Inc., Al served as Principal of his own consulting firm in Washington, D.C. There he provided strategic counsel on matters involving national security, foreign affairs policy, homeland security, aviation/transportation, and business development. Before forming his own company, Al served as Director, Legislative Affairs, Commercial Aviation, for the Boeing Company. Access to senior leadership of Boeing Commercial was garnered during this tenure, as he served as the senior liaison with government for this important division inside of Boeing. began 19 years ago at the General Aviation Manufacturer’s Association where he represented manufacturers of general aviation aircraft, engines, avionics and component parts. During his tenure at GAMA, Al helped garner enacted the General Aviation Revitalization Act (1994), which enabled the general aviation industry, decimated by product liability, to re-open their production lines and hire 25,000 people over a 5-year period. Al Jackson has a BS degree in Aviation Business Administration from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University. He received the Embry-Riddle Graduate of the Last Decade Award 2000, the Distinguished Graduate Award from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, and mentors young people in a variety of settings. He also serves on the Embry Riddle University’s President’s Advisory Board; and Brigham Young University’s Marriot Business School National Advisory Committee. Al Jackson serves on a volunteer basis, as National Faculty, the Thomas Jefferson Center for Constitutional Studies. This notion of all problems being solved in Washington, DC is contrary to the vision our Founding Fathers set for this great nation through the US Constitution. Jackson’s experience in Washington, DC prompted him to seek a better solution to our nation’s problems, which led him to the Thomas Jefferson Center for Constitutional Studies. His time serving in Washington, DC has created within him a deep love for this country and the freedoms afforded to us all, as citizens. Jackson’s efforts through the Thomas Jefferson Center will hopefully make a difference among our current leaders, of which he maintains constant contact. Additionally, his strong desire to teach our young people about the greatness of this nation and inspire them regarding their role in preserving our freedoms is paramount. Al and his wife Juleen reside in Highland, UT. They have five; Kayla (19); Franklin (16); Mary Alice (14); Alvin III (10); and Marie (6). Kayla is currently serving an LDS Church Mission in Iquitos, Peru and Franklin has verbally committed to attend BYU on a basketball scholarship.
