Photoshop of the day - He came to my rescue
This digital painting took about 4 hours in photoshop today, and itโs a little bit rough! But I wanted to illustrate the story of Jesus and Peter walking on the water. Jesus had to rescue Peter when he was sinking as he took his eyes off Jesus. The doubts and fear crept into Peterโs mind and his faith became weak. The darkness of doubt was trying to kill him, but Jesus reaches out His hand and rescued Peter when he needed it the most.

Getting creative with the fishing ๐ฃ pole!
Starting soon, if you or someone you know are interested in attending our online/zoom Bible study message me ASAP! This will be a weekly time to connect, pray for one another and read the words Jesus spoke together. Prayers welcome as we begin this journey ๐๐๐
Here's our challenge of the week to you: go outside and sit in silence. Yes, that means no cell phones ๐ Try to tune in to the world using your different senses. What different kinds of bird calls do you hear? Can you see the varied shades of green in the trees and the blues in the sky? Does your skin feel warm from the sunshine? Sit for just 5 minutes, breathing deeply, and you'll learn how beautiful and entertaining nature can be!

Photo of the day - Plundered Hues
I was inspired to a rainbow-themed image this weekend, and wanted to create a concept about colors and darkness. This was directly inspired by this Bible passage:
"the Light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the Light" - John 3:19
The goal was to show that loving the darkness can remove the beauty of God's original design for our lives. Let me know how this image speaks to you!

Photo of the day - Be a Prism
This concept was completely my wife's original idea, and inspired by this verse:
And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward. (Matthew 10:42)
After I got the sketch down, we took a few pictures of ourselves in our living room. Just basic flashes and softboxes to give a strong edge light, especially on me. In photoshop, I added a background of an alleyway from downtown. Then I painted out the rainbow colors from the glass of water and added some other texture effects. Total time for this one was about 3 hours start to finish.

"Life'smost persistent and urgent question, What are you doing for others?"
- Martin Luther King Jr.
In 1964, the United States Congress passed the Civil Rights Act which prohibits discrimination based on race, religion, s*x, or national origin, and strengthened the enforcement of voting rights and the desegregation of schools. Yet, Dr. King pushed forward knowing there was still much more work to be done.
Even though today the road ahead of us is filled with uncertainty, let's keep Dr. King's vision of a brighter future in our sights. Let's finish the work Martin Luther King Jr. and so many others started for us.

Mission & Vision
Mission
The Christian Visual Art Collective was created by a group of Seventh Day Adventists in the Texas Rio Grande Valley looking to create and support a network of local Christian Artists. Our goal is to create opportunity and support for Christian artists for the use of visual art as self expression of faith, worship in the church, and public evangelism in the local area.
Christian Visual Art Collective is committed to creating this community of artists with the intent of supporting and bringing art in the SDA community into the spotlight. Since its foundation, CVAC has become not just an entity for providing a means of exposure, expression, but also a group that utilizes each artistโs specific skills set to create collaborative work.
