Whilst the sun shone today our trusty volunteers painted the rust inhibitor on the newly prepared metal windows and the water leak is , fingers crossed , fixed ! Thank you all

Well the sun nearly shined , and it didn’t rain , so our fantastic volunteers , not only from the village , but from UK power networks were able to work their magic today on our community pub.

They cut back the ivy, dug out lots of roots, emptied the garages, swept and washed the bar , kitchen and other areas . The floors inside are a different colour now and it looks so much better , many hands do make light work.

The volunteers from UK power networks did a brilliant job removing the old paint from some of the windows , not a five minute job as you might imagine, I think their arms certainly had a good work out today and what a delightful group of people they were to work with. Thank you Diane and your team.

It was good to see so many residents of the village , last night, as we commemorated D-day.
The village church bells rang out and we duly crossed the fields to the beacon which was lit as dusk was forming.

Tomorrow evening , Thursday 6th June , we will be holding a ‘mini pop up pub‘ at Framsden Village Hall from 7 pm.
We are there with Framsden Parish Council to commemorate the 80 th Anniversary of D-Day.
The Framsden church bells will be ringing from 7:00 pm and those who ordered fish n chips will be eating them at the village hall from 7:30
There will be musical entertainment and a reading of the Normandy Poem to commemorate the D-Day Landings.
A torch light procession will follow to the Beacon which will be lit at 9:15 pm .
All will be welcome to join in with the commemorations .

The weather was kind today and we even saw some sun 🌞. Thank you to everyone who came and cleared brambles and raked the pebbles ready for our summer pub pop ups.
Chris brought some lovely hanging baskets , they really brighten the outside of the pub.
Our next working party is on Wednesday 12 th June from 10:30 to 15:30.
We have a group of volunteers coming to help us with the ‘crittall windows ‘ , that day, which need rubbing down and repainting. if you’ve any spare time on this day , we‘d love to see you too as were hoping to prepare and paint the pub post where the new Framsden Greyhound’ sign will hang .

‘Summer Framsden Greyhound Pop Up Pub Events’

What fantastic weather and an enthusiastic group of volunteers we had yesterday. Thank you all.
We chopped down over grown bushes, felled a leylandi or two, inspected the drains and produced an enormous pile of garden debris.

Please bring your own gardening tools and wear suitable clothing.

This month at The Framsden Greyhound .

We have another working party on Saturday 11th May from 10-12 - all welcome- please bring your tools and refreshments .

The share prospectus will be published May 20th, more details will follow .

Another great working party today with several new volunteers, lots of gardening rubbish cleared, bottles taken to the Framsden bottle bank and a cold water supply installed .

The Thatchers are in repairing some of the damage to make the pub water tight.

The village of Framsden now own a pub . We have purchased the 300 year old listed pub, which has been closed for seven years , with the help of a grant from the Government's Community Ownership Fund.

The work now begins and we have already had a hard working village tidy , as the photographs show , with many more days planned, including this Sunday 7th April from 9:30 .

Would be great to see as many people as possible as many hands make light work, even if you are unable to help just pop down to say hello.
