We’ve been having such a great time in Denmark! Huge thanks to Salonen4xk and Bluegrass Music Denmark for having us play on Thursday and Friday. Such wonderful atmospheres and super lovely people! Currently we are on the ferry traveling towards Aarhus for the last show tonight at Roots Aarhus 🎉

Hi folks! It’s been a wild couple of months for us. We relocated to the Netherlands in November and have been settling into our new life here. We miss Ireland but are excited to be continuing on with the Long Way Home adventure! To all our Irish friends - we’ll be back to visit Ireland before too long! Really looking forward to singing some songs and having a pint with y’all again soon 🙂
We’ve been booking some exciting shows for the duo, and we have an exciting year of music ahead of us. Stay tuned for more announcements about shows and tours this year 🎉

We’re still buzzing from last week’s festivals! We had such a great time at European World of Bluegrass and Omagh Bluegrass Festival. It was great to see some old friends and make some new ones too! Seth Mulder & Midnight Run, The Fountaineers, The Foreign Landers, Cup O'Joe, My Grass Is Blue, Aaron Jonah Lewis, European World Of Bluegrass, Bluegrass Omagh 2022, Ulster American Folk Park, Omagh. Here's a few snapshots of the weekend.
About Us
Co. Cork, Ireland - Long Way Home is a new folk and roots music duo. While drawing from experience in bluegrass and American-roots music, their diverse repertoire emphasizes original folk songs, based on real-life experiences as international explorers.
Owen Schinkel (The Netherlands) and Kylie Kay Anderson (Utah, USA) met in Johnson City, Tennessee while studying in the Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Country Music Studies program at East Tennessee State University. Through their experiences, they both gained a deep interest in the international bluegrass music scene. After completing their studies, Owen and Kylie decided to relocate to Co. Cork, Ireland to learn, experience bluegrass music abroad, and to become inspired by new music genres. The Long Way Home project is the result of their inspiration and experiences.
