Kindness for Kirk

It’s been a long time since I have posted on here but this is too good not to share.

Yesterday was the annual ‘Kirk’s golf day’ which is going to become a yearly tradition near Kirk’s birthday.

40 golfers, together for Kirk’s memory. Each one having their own personal memories of him and there own reason for wanting to be part of it ❤️

This just proves what an impact Kirk had on the people he met.

In the 14 hours these men were together, after paying their fines and for their ‘cock-ups’, raffle and an auction (4 Balls kindly donated by various golf clubs) they raised, four times as much as last year, a MAGNIFICENT £3,244 for Exeter Hospice care 🥳

Me, Fizzy Frost & Adrian Frost are incredibly grateful to each and every one of you, thank you very much, we were very touched by all of you ☺️

What a wonderful afternoon 🎂 a massive thank you to everyone who came, everyone who donated and just generally everyone still supporting our fund raising!

We wanted to raise £250 for a new bench for the hospice care in Exeter and we managed to smash it and raised a massive £682.24 plus a generous donation from a family member of £400 so a total of £1082.24!

Next week Fizzy Frost is holding a cake sale to raise money for a new bench for Exeter Hospice care in memory of Kirk.

I haven’t posted on here for a very long time but I feel this is special enough to post. With Kirks birthday coming up this week we decided to do a walk around the canal in his memory ❤️ Kirk loved supporting the Willand Food Network and today we have raised £152 for them on behalf of Kirk 🤩 Thank you to everyone that came, it was so nice to know he is still with so many people 😍

Good afternoon everybody.

I am sure most of you are aware of our sad news but for those of you that don't know us personally I wanted to let you know that Kirk finally gave up his battle with cancer on October the 23rd. If you remember the crazy storm that night, Laura had tried to climb into bed with him as she is scared of storms. When it settled and Laura had managed to fall back to sleep, he decided it was his time to go.

We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your love, support and donations over the years. He fought so hard to fight this terrible disease and wouldn't have had the chance to try so many different options without the fundraising.

He was in the Exeter Hospice for 12 days previous. He received such wonderful care whilst he was there. We have set up a page specifically for Exeter Hospiscare - if anyone wishes to donate then please follow the link.

For anybody that hasn’t seen over Facebook the last few days here is an update from Kirk:

We are settling into Hospice Care. They are all lovely here. Trying to work out what works for pain relief. Almost had a pain free day yesterday and a lush bath!

We are all seeing your lovely messages so thank you.

We are still in shock and completely heartbroken with how fast everything has happened but we are as always cherishing the special moments.

I'll try and keep everyone as updated as I can. Kirks finding it hard to text (although he loves reading them) so it might be a bit easier on here to let everyone know as much as I can...

He also wants you to know he's shaved his beard since this picture of us looking absolutely haggered 🥴

Firstly, thank you to all the fans, players and staff who attended the Willand Rovers Football Club V Wellington AFC match on Saturday.

Thanks to your generosity, we raised the magnificent sum of £335 in donations and ticket sales for our ongoing "barrow of booze" raffle.

The tickets cost £2 each and the draw for the winning name will be made on 15th October. Tickets are available from Willand Football Club. We hope to add some more outlets very soon! If you would like to participate but can't get to the club, please let us know.

Secondly, a date for your diaries!

We are holding an "Auction Night" at Willand F.C. on the evening of Friday 2nd September.

We already have some auction lots, some in the pipeline, and we are actively seeking more.
