Walk Exchange
The Walk Exchange organizes free creative walks in New York City and beyond. Join us for a walk! We walk to learn about spaces, ideas, and each other.
Since 2010, The Walk Exchange has led an annual training course and an informal monthly walk series, and has conducted workshops and site specific projects with community and arts based organizations. If you have an idea for a walk, or a particular topic you want to explore through walking, contact us, we are always open to your suggestions. All Walk Exchange events are free and open to all.

"Right before COVID-19 hit, [Howlett] co-founded Walkspace: Walking in the West Midlands, a collective to promote psychogeography in the landlocked region. While some have framed psychogeography as a solo endeavor, Howlett was passionate about bringing people together and re-discovering a forgotten “richness” in his community. They even made a virtual map where people could add points of interest discovered through their own psychogeographic explorations."
Walkers in the City—and Everywhere - JSTOR Daily In psychogeography, the journey is key. Each step a person takes helps them reshape and better understand the role the space around them plays in their life.

It’s not far off from the perpetual humming of the city itself. You really have to listen more deeply to discover it.”
