We saw this movie Perfect Days last night. The main character is a toilet cleaner in Tokyo. His life is pretty simple and routine yet he treasures his books, his music and plants that he picks up from the foot of the trees. It’s a charming film.

He has won fortunes and lost them, found love and lost it. Now he might be losing his mind … or his soul.

A couple of years back, Jeff and I embarked on a road trip to visit his folks in Wisconsin. As we cruised past farms and barns, the idea struck us to craft a tale inspired by one of the farms we spotted along the way. Jeff eagerly accepted the challenge, and thus, Get Up, Eleanor came to life.

When Eleanor’s mother passes away suddenly, her ordered life crumbles. Left to sort through her mom’s belongings in Wisconsin, Eleanor discovers her parents’ hidden past that challenges what she believed.
