This is not a scare tactic or fear based. It is a time to listen and prepare the family and spend time with your family and stop all the nonsense.

We have never been through something like this in our lifetimes. But we are here now and how we handle this will help generations to come including our kids and grandkids.

There is already unreported people still walking around like no big deal. PAY ATTENTION and be SMART. Do not take this lightly. All will be okay and we will come out stronger and smarter.

Grief is the Physical and Mental process through which we deal with intense emotions after a loss. THIS IS A NORMAL response to a death...a parting of ways.

It is a normal HUMAN process that we all go through and EVERYONE handles grief in different ways. To grieve is to feel the loss and come to terms with it. Normal signs of grief can be depression, loss of appetite, difficulty sleeping, sadness, restlessness, anger and lack of interest in life to name a few...

Don't let ANYONE tell you how you should grieve or how long it should last. Everyone has their own time frame and most people recover.

Talk to Family and Friends - Don't suppress your feelings.

You be the Nurse and Advocate for your loved one. As I mentioned last week...be alert...ask questions and be...ASSERTIVE...

I am currently dealing with a family crisis and I just caught my family member being given insulin due to the medication causing high blood sugar. The medicine is needed for the health issue we are dealing with. However as I'm sitting her thinking.. HMM... if she is given insulin now due to high blood sugar than why are they feeding her carbs for three straight days? And maybe she has high blood sugar because of the "diet" they are feeding her and not the medicine...or maybe it's contributing to the spike...

My thoughts got the best of me so I asked the question to the nurse. Why the food, sugar, carbs?

I was told that the nurse removed the sugar packet for her coffee. Which is caffeinated now that I ask and she only drinks decaf....🤔

Anyway the nurse said "GOOD CATCH" with the high sugar carb foods. 😱

They have been feeding her Pancakes, syrup, oatmeal, orange juice, fruit juice, breads and rice and desert, cookies, etc for breakfast and during dinner. I was not here during lunch. 😳

You MUST take you and your loved ones medical care in your own hands. I am here because of special circumstances 24/7 with family helping.

I am seeing first hand the medical workings from the inside out. And this is just the Hospital. (Don't get me started on Nursing Homes...Anyway back to my post...😧)

Most of the families do not get to be bedside like this so you MUST ASK QUESTIONS, BE ALERT and be assertive.

I've had my 99 year old Grandfather left in the hallway at the hospital with a traumatic injury. When I asked hospital staff why he was there .. their answer. " he's 99, what do you want us to do". TREAT HIM.

A close friends Mom was having the wrong shoulder iced in the rehab.

My husband was without his IV during a crucial 24 hours in the hospital.

Numerous Families I work with have had seniors not given the correct medication, UTI issues, not hydrating the patient in the hospital, forced discharge...the list goes on and on.
