Here’s a bunch of Mopar final pencil drawings from George. These are all on 11x14 tracing paper. George slid these under good white paper stock on his light table to ink in the final art. Message me if interested.

I have a few Krass and Bernie episodes from my collection that I am willing to part with. These are from the Car Craft era of K&B. These include roughs on 8.5 x 11 white paper; highly detailed final pencil drawings on 11 x 14 tracing paper. George slid these final pencils under good paper on his light board and he would then ink the final art. These are rare behind the scenes drawings straight from the desk of the man himself. This episode features a 1966 Belvedere. Message me if interested.

Aside from George Trosley, was my favorite artist growing up. As a young BMX racer and freestyler, Radical Rick was a big part of my life. Damian does original art drops a few times a year and to say the items go quickly would be an understatement. I finally snagged something and I’m thrilled to add one of his personal clipboards to my art collection.

Thanks to the wayback website you can see some early versions of the georgetrosley website. I love the 3rd version. Someone created the graphics for it (can’t remember who at this point) and I really dug that look. This was the early days of websites and I learned and wrote the code (I’m not a computer guy although HTML is pretty simple). I don’t think George had any idea how many hours I put into all these websites over the years. About 15 years ago I calculated how much I saved George by doing this for free and it was around 40k over the years. Now it is simple to make a website and it creates everything for you.

Here is some art that is done in a much different style than Trosley is known for. George did a bunch of these for a company that I believe was named AutoArt or something like that which has since closed.

I’ve posted this before but it’s worth another post for those that missed it. If you look behind the bush on the left edge of the photo you see the corner of a white building. This is the legendary Krass and Bernie garage! George and his buddies rented this garage from the homeowner to work on their cars. It didn’t have a room above it like the cartoon, but they always dreamed of how cool it would be if it did. This was where the idea of Krass (George’s brother Harold) and Bernie (George) were born. That’s George’s fat fender Ford and his brother’s Falcon behind it. Cool history!

How many have seen these before? These are diecasts from 1999. If I remember the story correctly, George did all the killer art for the packaging and trading cards and the company never paid him for it. These are available if anyone wants one $20 each unopened plus shipping. Message me if interested. *** ALL SOLD*****.

Here’s an odd one. Who knew that George laid down some sweet tracks when he was a young man? Multi-talented man.

A little story behind this killer custom art by George. I met George in the middle of 1999 and quickly sparked up a friendship. We began discussing me making a website for him to start selling his art. (Side note- he had previously bought the ‘Internet Toolbox’ from the infomercial with Richard Karn from the TV show Home Improvement. George got nowhere with it since he often admitted that his computer skills peaked with his Commodore 64). In November 1999 I purchased the Georgetrosley domain and got to work making his website. I ran (and paid for) his website for around 10 years until I handed it off to his wife Susan. This art was one of many custom pieces George did for me over the years as an appreciation for all that I did for him. He was never short on appreciation! Unfortunately, George and I aren’t so close anymore. After him and his son were very successful with their NFT project a few years ago, George didn’t need to focus on his custom car art anymore so I guess I fell out of favor. Pretty bummed about that. Oh well, enjoy the art! It’s probably my favorite piece from him.

Anyone else receive one of George’s mailers/catalogs back in the early 2000’s? He sent them out by the hundreds. Most of this stuff is still available on his website so do yourself a favor and check it out. automotivecartoons

Here’s a little bit of Trosley history. In the early 2000’s I compiled all of George’s ‘How To’ pages from CARtoons and made CD’s to view them on your computer (funny now, but this was high-tech then). In 2005 I secretly set out to publish a ‘How To’ BOOK. Countless hours were spent converting and cleaning up all of the images from the old CARtoons newsprint paper images. I found a publisher that would print on demand (easy to find nowadays) in Canada. I got the single proof book made and sent it to George as a surprise. He was thrilled to see all his work in a sellable book. These images are the changes he made to the book (custom front and back covers and a nice dedication to me). I went on to work on his 2 Krass & Bernie books, again spending tons of hours working on hundreds of images. Susan found a new publisher and worked with them for those 2 books. George’s ‘How To’ book was bought out and ‘freshened up’ with some color pages, etc. by CarTech books. You can still find both styles of it available. All 3 of George’s books are still available on his website. He had hopes of doing 2 more Krass and Bernie books (the final set of CARtoons pages from 1986-1991, and another book from the K&B Car Craft era). He never moved forward with those and I’m not sure why.

I’ve driven by the dozens of times over the years. Finally had the chance to check it out today. Lots of historic drag cars, engines, and memorabilia for days. Highly recommend. Found a Trosley piece and also caught a glimpse of the man himself checking the mail as we were leaving! Pretty cool!

When you ask Bing image creator to show the ultimate hot rod garage. I guess AI thinks everyone needs a dozen tool boxes and that hot rodders are messy and unorganized. Check out the custom wall art.

Anyone remember this from a Grant Performance ad back in 2002? Read the note on the back from George. Like any good artist or person that works with their hands creating something- you can’t be afraid to go backwards and re-do something that you aren’t 100% happy with! A trait of a true craftsman.

Some amazing Trosley art has popped up on eBay. Seller is in Japan. I don’t know anything about the art or when George did these but as always- they are amazing. Good opportunity to buy some of George’s art which is rarely for sale.

Just a reminder that George has (3) incredible books for sale on his website along with a bunch of art prints and other goodies. Go check it out and pick something up.

These car show flyers / t-shirt designs by George are so full of detail it is incredible. They are among my favorite examples of his work and something most fans of his art have never seen. The mix of rawness and detail is so captivating. George used these final pencil drawings on tracing paper to slide under good paper stock on his light table. Then George let the magic begin and inked/colored the final art. Which one is your favorite?
