May is the month of the Military Spouse. On paper they are listed as “Dependents,” but I can’t think of a more INDEPENDENT and resourceful group of men and women. Quite simply, our military spouses are made of steel. They shoulder immense burdens with grace and resilience, undergo multiple relocations, balance their own careers, and endure deployment uncertainties to ensure our nation is secure.
Childcare is a key component in supporting spouses’ careers. That’s why I am proud to share that in 2024, we are investing over $80 MILLION FOR NEW CHILDCARE DEVELOPMENT CENTERS at Wright-Patterson, Randolph, and Scott Air Force Bases and $15 Million in planning and design to cover future planned CDC projects. In the future, the Air Force will be investing $50 million to renovate 11 more CDCs!
Added to this, we announced $540 MILLION IN 2025 IN FAMILY HOUSING investments in the President’s Budget request, a portion of that will includes revamped playgrounds, amenities, and common areas.
