The Ispabok story
Ispabok is a combination of spaghetti and palabok, a local delicacy that may be found in Orani, Bataan. Spaghetti noodles are flavored with our secret-recipe palabok sauce, topped with chicharon other delectable meat and vegetables. The result is a truly authentic regional Filipino dish, one that now finds itself delighting curious eaters and hungry families in Taytay, Rizal.
The family restaurant was founded by the spouses Renato and Olivia Bueno, who knew that ispabok was ripe for discovery beyond Orani. In the province, ispabok was a dish served to Olivia by her ima (auntie) whenever she visited from the city. When Olivia married Rene, ima served the ispabok to him as well, and would continue to do so, until both looked forward to the sumptuous feasts ima served everytime they came back: burong isda, alimango, hipon, kare-kare, and many more. It is from ima’s generous spirit and wonderful cooking where Ispabok takes inspiration.
The restaurant is now spreading the magic and culinary heritage of Ispabok beyond its origins in Orani, Bataan. Visit us at our new location at 90 Ortigas Ext., Tikling, Taytay, Rizal, or have your favorites delivered to your home.
