I just received this message from Roses’s mom. She is a college professor. I am always at a loss for words with the touching messages I receive from her. They’re doing such great things together. ♥️🌹♥️🐾

Schools going. One of my former students passed away so I am dealing with all sorts of emotional fallout from other students (as well as myself) so I haven’t written anything. Rose is helping me through all of it.

She is incredible. She is “knowing” because she always knows who needs her and when. And she doesn’t take rejection at all! She kept putting her head down on this one guy. He kept moving her head so she laid down on his backpack the rest of class. When class was over, she just laid there so I went to fetch her and he ended up basically crying his eyes out and telling me his whole story! She KNEW.

I can’t tell you how much Rose is loved because I have never seen this much love! I don’t understand the volume of love she possesses and so freely gives to everyone so sweetly. She tells me who to love on and who to pay attention to because she KNOWS and her way of telling me is precious. She is right every time. I’ve had so many students open up to me because of her. And that sometimes saves them and sometimes saves me. But is always loving.

I have had well more than my fair share of great dogs share their lives with me but Rose is different. Rose is my soul mate. Rose is my partner in helping shape the lives of these precious, scared students. Rose is their voice when they need help and can’t express it. Rose is everything.

I can't take her to the beach for a walk because it bothers you on your vacation, you don't allow me to rent a house if I have a dog, nor can I put it on urban public transport.
However, I can take her to the rubble to look for you after an earthquake, in the forest after you got lost in the mountain and you had no map or GPS; under the snow, because you did a forbidden off-piste; in the water, because despite the red flag, you went swimming when the posted signs said not to. You welcome her when you need her but not when it’s not convenient for you. After all….”it is just a dog”….

Think again people. Dogs are better than most humans, they’re kinder, more loyal, love unconditionally and they appreciate you no matter whether you deserve it or not.

Sweet Miss Rose 🌹 update!

Oh what a darling baby she is!!! She has taken to being large and in charge of everything SO well! She knows where everything is, my office, each of my classrooms, the bathroom, where she goes outside, which direction to go to the library, she has mastered everything! She barks at leaf blowers. I don’t blame her, I would too! But they are offensive to her. She has ridden on the transit buses. Elevators are no problem. Stairs? Easy.

She has been to the park and down the slide! She loves sand and gets bouncy when she feels it on her feet. She has no problem with all the noice of little children going silly at the park.

She has been in all the major stores- Lowes, Home Depot, Walmart, harps, petsmart (where SHE picked out her newest toy), tractor supply (where she met baby chicks and ducks), she’s even been to watch me get my nails done.

I take her everywhere with me. She is truly Velcro. She is learning about a leash but would prefer to just be right at my side. She does best when I let her carry the leash herself. She likes balls! She likes sticks and playing tug. We have started a tiny bit of tracking (just 10 feet) and she totally understands keeping that precious nose in the ground (mainly because that’s where all the yummy treats are)

She loves to dance with me. She hops around so cute. We have gone to yoga twice but that’s hard because we want to run around, I’m going to keep doing it at home until she gets a little bit older. She likes to talk but only says something when she needs to make a point!

Rose does well when meeting new people. She has met so many students…..she is use to meeting and greeting!! She has learned how to drink from a water bottle. She knows which backpack is hers but it’s way too big for her to carry just yet. But she knows that’s where all her stuff is!!!

She has been to a bonfire and a pep rally. She has been to the lake and barked at it!! I’ve take her where live music was being played. She just does everything right. Always checking for a re-secure but having the confidence to do what’s right.

I love and adore her. She is the perfect partner for me.
