THE ROLE

Title: Sales & Marketing Manager

Team/s: Lodge Reservations + Safari Sales + Marketing

Report to: Group General Manager (based in Kampala)

Responsible for: The success of all sales and marketing within the group

Salary: To be discussed upon successful short-list

The role is broken into five key areas:

1. Sales & Reservations Here you will be fully accountable and responsible for all aspects of reservations and sales within the business.

2. Marketing Here you are fully accountable and responsible for all aspects of marketing both the lodges and the safari company.

3. Process You will be required to ensure that adequate processes are in place and adhered to, ensuring that all aspects of your department/s run/s smoothly.

4. Commercial You will be responsible for revenues, costs and bottom line within your department/s.

5. People You are required to lead, motivate, train and inspire a team of around 5-7 (possibly more) staff to exceed all guest expectations.

THE APPLICANT

Applicant Requirements: We require the Applicant to have:

· University degree in tourism (institution must be contactable for reference purposes).

· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the management of reservations and/or tour operations / safari planning.

· Strong marketing experience and knowledge.

· Preferably have managed a team of people in Africa.

· Excellent understanding of hospitality and tourism logistics with regards to lodge reservations and safaris within Africa.

· Strong experience with customer relations.

· Experience with International markets and their requirements.

· Understanding of the industry’s financial processes.

· Excellent English skills – verbal and written.

· Strong computer skills are essential (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook are musts.

· Excellent administration skills.
