Did you know that letting a baby play freely on the floor helps them to learn how to move their body?

Prolonged use of containers (such as bouncers, swings, or car seats) can limit a baby's movement and lead to delayed motor development or flattening of the skull (plagiocephaly).

Free play on the ground helps prevent these issues by allowing natural movement and development.

If you have a child with a brachial plexus Injury on your caseload, remember, it is so important to asses the wrist position.

Consider a wrist c**k up splint to promote joint integrity and prevent overstretching.

Remember these splints can be fabricated in three orientations: radial, dorsal, or volar.

Always consult your medical team and obtain a physicians order.

Splinting is only one tool and should be used with discretion as it is not always indicated.
