Our Story
I started working full time as a goldsmith from the age of 17.
I still remember my first day working in the workshop and the magic of the place.
I served what I would refer to as an " old school apprenticeship ". My duties included sweeping the floor, making tea and doing deliveries.
Gradually I was taught one by one to master each concept of jewelry making.
Much of my work entailed repairing customers broken jewelry. I believe that this time taking apart and repairing the work of past master goldsmiths gives the greatest education and respect for jewelry. In this manner you learn a great subtle touch when working on a delicate piece.
You also learn the way in which a piece wears and ages so you learn the balance of design aesthetic and practical construction.
A piece must be beautiful but it must also be durable so as to be worn and enjoyed to its full. A goldsmith must never underestimate how much a piece will be loved and treasured by its owner and thus how much wear it will receive.
As any type of artist or craft worker will know, a piece of you goes into everything you make. Your emotions are tied to the piece and you want people to love your creation. I believe that the deep connection of the crafts person to the piece is true essence of luxury jewelry. It is not in the large corporate celebrity brands that produce the worlds best jewelry it is the craft workers deep connection to the piece and personal touch that form true fine jewelry.
I craft precious gemstone, diamond jewelry and specialize in claddagh rings. I use lots of beautiful natural gemstones in my rings and enjoy to add a modern touch to the traditional claddagh design. My claddagh rings are often treasured by my clients and this gives me tremendous joy.
My workshop is based in Dame Street, Dublin, Ireland and I ship worldwide. I take great care to assure my clients receive their parcels all over the world.
