Let me tell you about the sweetest man I know. I've known Tanner Chase for a few years now and his story is both heartbreaking and inspiring. He has the biggest heart of anyone I know and a resiliency that amazes me. Even though life keeps knocking him down, he just keeps getting right back up and moving forward. If that isn’t inspiring, I don’t know what is.

Just as his new seasonings' business started to get off the ground, his body decided ‘nope, not yet’ and he was hospitalized. He was diagnosed with hemochromatosis - a hereditary disease that causes you to produce too much iron in your blood (cue the Ironman references). He had no idea it ran in his family and has been fighting it so long that he now has some liver damage too. And the liver damage is causing a condition called Hepatic encephalopathy – a brain disorder that affects some with liver disease. Leave it to Tanner to have two rare conditions that no one has ever heard of….:)

As if being sick wasn't enough, he’s now stuck with a insane Hospital Bills, add in all the specialists and he’s looking at over $40,000. That doesn't include Medications which are over $150 each month. 4 Doctors visits each month to have his blood drawn to control the iron and regular lab work that are over $200 a month and he doesn't have insurance right now because, uh, US (nuff said, don't get me started.)
