THERE IS A TIME (WAYFARING STRANGER Outro)
By the Darlings (otherwise known as The Dillards)
I first heard this song on The Andy Griffith show, and it stuck with me deeply ever since. One of the best folk songs to come out of The '60s, to my knowledge
Glad to be back in Gainesville again.
This song is called Ghost World
It was written in 2008, but I swear to God it's like I was looking into the future. It means more now than it ever did.
First new old new old new song in a long time.
This is the third song in the zombie trilogy.
The Daughter makes it to a safe haven. One of the only people to make it there on their own. Everyone there asks her how she managed and what she saw.
Despite what her father told her, she tells everyone everything. Everything that she saw, everything that she experienced, everything that she felt, everything that she lost.
Her perspective teaches us to cherish what we have now, cuz everything can be taken away in an instant.
And the dead are always watching.
This is the second song in the zombie trilogy...
The idea was to capture the terror you feel not from the monsters or the danger, but the desire to protect someone. The unyielding pressure that comes from keeping someone else besides yourself safe.
And then failing at that
The song is about a father failing his daughter, but allowing her to continue forward.
And hoping she doesn't see too many terrible things along the way.
The first in the zombie trilogy.
This is the song about the scientist who started the zombie apocalypse... How isolated he felt and how hated he felt by his peers. Rejected and unwanted his actions became unwieldy. But he loses control and is taken down by his own hubris... Slowly shifting the story into a father and daughter escaping into the wasteland that the scientists created...
The song was written in 2009, Long before The Walking Dead was a television series with nine different spin-offs. It was just a humble Image comic book that nobody cared about.
It had a big effect on me.
Greetings from Gainesville Florida, My new home, covered in Spanish moss and sunshine.
This song is called "break me down", It's the first new song I've written in a long time. All of these lyrics came from text messages I had with Kat. All of these things were really said to someone. All of these things were really something that had to be said.
He**ine, and opioids and drugs like it, are the only demons this world truly knows. If you know someone addicted to opioids, do your best to be there for them, because I guarantee no one else will be.
Rest in peace, Kat Pace
I'm excited to start playing shows again.
Party Crasher by Greenland is Melting
This song is about the novel RANT by Chuck Palahnuik.
I took lines from different characters and added some of my own, but this song is about The wisdom of Buster Casey, and never accepting your place in this universe.
This is also my last song I'm posting from North Carolina.
Moving on to better things.
no one listens, written by me
wrote this song in Gainesville so I wanted to play it while I was in Gainesville. I'm not playing but I am attending the Heartwood music festival in Gainesville this weekend! If you're in the area you should come out. It'll be really fun. It's a 3-day festival
John, the revelator
Apple blossom by The White stripes
One of my all-time favorites
This is another song that hits a lot differently now.
Love you, Kat
Rated X by The great Loretta Lynn
People ask me why I don't change the perspective on these songs to the male perspective... and to those people I ask why can't you just go f**k yourself?
My favorite Delta Spirit opener, short but sweet
Cowboy killer
Thank God It's Wednesday....
This is the theme to The Andy Griffith show, there's a lot more words than this even and most people don't know they exist.
My favorite pastime lately is watching season 1 through 4, best TV of all time.
The highwayman by The highwaymen
If Tom Petty and Jack White grew up in Gainesville together, this is the song they would have played.
This is the meanest song I've ever known. It's also my favorite song from Florida. Thanks, Tom
So this is it, this is the end.
Everything you find, jut post it all online for free.
Be good.
I should preface this with I have never used and never will. I follow the mantra "beer before liquor, Never use he**in"... that being said.
He**in and others like it are the only true demons that exist in this world.
He**in kills mothers. Don't you ever let anyone tell you differently.
See you around, Bojack
This is part of why the new songs are difficult guys, sometimes s**t takes a long time to process.
Sometimes it breaks up friendships and sometimes it breaks up bands and sometimes it takes a while for things to heal.
But art is important and it's hard and it's necessary.
Here's to the new s**t 👽🧙🏼♀️🐢🍻
Another song that I can't remember why I wrote it, but only know who I wrote it about.
It's like Tom Waits said. Shut up and let it speak to you, and then tell everyone what it said.
These old songs hit a lot differently these days. How did I know how deeply I was seeing into my future back then?
I doubt that I ever could have comprehended that.
This is for anyone that ever liked this song even a little bit.
A lost Greenland is Melting song. No one wanted to do it besides me! So fresh outta 2009, here ya go
Ghost World
That war, it never stops. Feat. Tom Pluto on the Banjo
