Our favorite bass player and na**lm spreader is going through a medical emergency as we speak. All of NC and the SS shows are being rescheduled. Everyone please send all your love and positive energy Marc Brownstein way! Brownie we love you and hope you get well soon!!!!!!

Hey everyone, it’s a long story but here it is. Everyone at some point in their life deals with what is called vitreous detachment. It’s a natural process of aging in the eyes, and there is a small risk that it doesn’t go right. A month ago I went to the eye doctor and they told me to look out for some very serious symptoms but that there was an extremely small chance it would happen.

In the middle of Jam Cruise I started to lose vision in my right eye and identified some of the symptoms. I knew what I was dealing with right away, but had to wait to get off the boat to deal with it. When I got back to Miami, I went to the best eye hospital in the country and they immediately diagnosed a detached retina. They set me up for emergency surgery today, and when I arrived at the hospital they talked me through all the options and possible outcomes. With the help of a really great surgeon, we made the decision to fly me home to Philly, where I will be going into surgery in the morning. The chances of a full recovery are very high, in the 95% range. I will be in the care of some of the best eye doctors in the country. The recovery is not going to be easy and depending on which method they use, there will be more decisions to be made.

One thing I can tell you is that I will be at all of the shows that announced today, and there will be touchdowns. Many of them. It’s gonna be like 77-0. But in the meantime I am going to have to reschedule some shows. In two days, when we have a better sense of how this all went, I will be back in touch. I’m very scared but mostly because I’m a huge baby when it comes to matters of cutting the body open. The good thing is I will be at home in the care of my family.

I feel awful that we had to postpone shows - that is never easy, especially with a fan base that travels from all over the country. But the doctor said this: “you are young and we need to be thinking about the long term future with this and not worry about the short term.” And I agree with that. There will always be more shows. I only have two eyes and I want them both to work.

Thanks for all the well wishes that I’ve already received and in advance for the impending flood of messages! I love you guys more than words could describe and I feel so fortunate to be surrounded by such loving friends (Magner!!!!), family, and fans. I will talk to you on the other side.
