Parents,
With this highly-trafficked road being closed, it will inevitably affect school dismissal--both for car riders and bus riders. Please take caution to avoid the area, as we do not have a timeline for reopening.
For bus riders, please reference the MyStop Bus App for bus location/delays. Plainfield Police Department will be updating their social media (linked below) as they get more information on reopening.
**UPDATE**
S. Center Street is now completely open to traffic.
————————————-
🚧Traffic Advisory-Road closure 🚧 This will affect the evening commute!
Officers and Fire Personnel have closed down South Center Street between Reeves Road and Hadley Road due to downed power lines. Please avoid this area as Duke Energy personnel are working to address the situation. We will update this post when the roadway reopens.
Congratulations to these STRONG PCMS teams! Proud of you!
Safety of our students and staff is a top priority--and we work to evolve and improve our processes every year. Make sure you put your student's school safety meeting on your calendars. It's a chance to get YOUR questions about school safety answered by the principals, school resource officers, and administrators.
The August meeting of the Board of School Trustees is tonight at 7:00pm. If you'd like to watch the live stream from home, the link is here: https://www.youtube.com/live/yhvtZNhPKgQ
Welcome back, Quakers! We're excited for a great year!
Our partners at Plainfield Police Department have some friendly reminders as we welcome students back tomorrow!
🚨🚌 PLAINFIELD SCHOOLS START TOMORROW 📚🚨
PLEASE SHARE
As the new school year starts tomorrow, we want to ensure the safety of our school children. With more school buses and traffic hitting the streets in Plainfield, it's vital for everyone to be extra cautious and vigilant. PPD will be stepping up patrols in the morning with bus stops and ensuring the safety of students loading and unloading.
🛑 STOP for the Stop Arm! 🛑 🚌
If the overhead lights flash red and the stop arm extends, you are required by law to stop. Under no circumstances, should you try and speed up to “beat” the bus. That could put children boarding or exiting the bus in danger. Every time you see a bus, slow down, be ready to stop and watch for children. Yellow flashing lights indicate the bus is preparing to stop to load or unload children. Motorists should slow down and prepare to stop their vehicles.
Here are some additional safety tips:
•BE ALERT when backing out of a garage or driveway.
•WATCH your speed in neighborhoods and school zones.
•SLOW DOWN and watch for children walking in the street, especially if there are no sidewalks in a neighborhood.
Thank you, it’s up to all of us to keep our children safe. Let’s have a great school year.
Back-to-school excitement is in full swing! 🎉📚
We were joined by these 28+ new teachers and administrators to our schools this week. We are excited to welcome these talented and dedicated educators to our school community, ready to inspire and guide our students this year. All staff returns on Monday, school starts Wednesday, and we are looking forward to filling our buildings with energy and enthusiasm once again—from both students AND staff!
Mrs. Cade will interview with the Indiana Department of Education in the next few weeks, where she'll get to discuss her experiences in and out of the classroom, explain her passions for teaching, and showcase her outstanding skills as an educator!
Good Luck, Dayna! We are SO proud of you!
What an incredible experience for former Quaker Daryn Wright at the Paris Olympic opening ceremonies. We are all very proud of you. Good luck next week in 10M Diving!
Daryn will dive on August 5 at 9am—cheer loud enough for her to hear Plainfield from Paris!
We're yelling out "YAY!!!" for Dayna Cade, one of Indiana's Top 25 Teachers of the Year! Congratulations, Mrs. Cade!
Leave a comment and help us show her how awesome we think she is!
As a school corporation, we love finding ways to give back. Our students and staff work throughout the school year giving back to different organizations and modeling our community of values.
This morning, administrators and principals spent some time packing meals for a local organization. We appreciated the opportunity to give back on both a local and global scale!
We've got open positions with flexible schedules available--are you the perfect fit?
Some of the open positions we have currently:
*LQA Secretary
*Instructional Assistants (all ages)

Join us in celebrating our May Big Cat of the Month Award in Special Education!
Director of Special Education Beth Shepperd and Director of Student Services Justin Tobey awarded the May Big Cat award to (drumroll please...) Alyshia Busby!!
Alyshia plays a crucial role in developing targeted student interventions that lead to positive outcomes. She stands out as a leader not only in individual buildings but across the entire district. Her ability to provide guidance, support, and effective problem-solving has made a significant impact on our community.
Alyshia's inclusive approach to decision-making ensures that all voices are heard and valued. Her investment in the well-being of both students and staff is evident in her consistent follow-through on commitments. Furthermore, her collaboration with outside agencies has been instrumental in meeting the diverse needs of our students. This recognition is a testament to her outstanding contributions and dedication.
Congratulations, Alyshia, on this well-deserved honor. The district is fortunate to have such a dedicated and effective leader.
Congratulations PCMS Boys Track and Field!! You are champions in our eyes!!
Our 6th grade students are going to talk about today for a long time! A huge “THANK YOU!” to all the groups and organizations that participated in today’s Amazing Race, and to all of our organizers who have worked for months to make sure this went off without a hitch.
