Lot’s of new faces around here so I thought I’d take a moment to introduce myself and my biz.

It feels like yesterday and forever ago at the same time. I’ve learnt a lot in my 10 years of entrepreneurship.

There’s no single important lesson that I can summarize into a motivational line for you to go forth and start your own business with.

Growth has been slow. I’ve wanted to quit and look for a ‘real job’ plenty of times.

It wasn’t until the last few years that things started to finally feel like they were falling into place for me and I now feel like I have clarity and vision for where I want to take my business in the years to come.

The point is, it’s ok to go slow. It’s ok to go at your own pace and do things your own way. Life is messy, business is hard and things don’t always happen as fast as we might want them to. Just keep trying and you’ll get there when the time is right.

Say ‘hi’ in the comments, I’d love to connect!

When I first started my design business, I was creating multiple design and logo concepts for clients at a low cost. As you can imagine, this process made burnout happen fast. Clients would mix and match concepts, submit multiple revisions and would essentially take over the designing.

After a few years of this, I realized if I wanted this business to be sustainable, let alone enjoyable, something had to change.

That's where the One Concept Method comes in.

This method completely changed the game for me and my business. I was finding high end clients that were a breeze to work with plus completing projects with little to no revisions.

The best part is, it is not complicated or overwhelming to implement in your own business. It can be a simple transition that makes a big impact for you.

You can discover more about this concept and how it can be used in your design business in my upcoming workshop, 'Pricing for Brand Designers' on July 25th at 11am PST.

In this workshop we will cover:

✔️ How to streamline your design process with the One Concept Method

✔️ How to charge $5k+ for your branding projects without having to do in depth strategy.

✔️ How my clients often have ZERO revisions when I use the One Concept Method

✔️ Q+A with me

Learn more and register to join me on July 25th here! If you are unable to join live, no worries! I will be sending out replay access to everyone who registers.

Just a friendly reminder that we are all in this business and design thing together.

When we're transparent about our process, pricing or design skills it benefits the whole community.

Especially fellow designers that didn't get to go to a fancy design school or have other hurdles standing in the way of accessing the same information as us.

You can always ask me what fonts I use, how much I charge, how to get out of sticky client situations. I'm pretty much an open book about design and business so ask away!

2 years ago I was burnt out creating 3 watered-down logo options for my clients to choose from. At the time I provided options because I thought that was the only way to make clients happy.

Projects would drag on while I waited for them to give me feedback. Once I finally received feedback it was a lot of combining elements from logo option 1 into logo option 2 and so on. It was exhausting.

On top of it all, I was undercharging for my services. The process altogether was a complete nightmare.

When you join Brand Process Savvy, you’ll get things like...

👉🏽 Tools for communicating the One Concept Method to your clients and how to keep things clear and concise on your website and throughout the design process.
Strategies for attracting high-end clients to your design biz
👉🏻 Simple steps for seamless sales calls where you confidently pitch $5k+ branding projects
Swipe copy for gathering the brand foundation and style ideas before any design begins
👉🏿 Templates and tutorials for how to present your one concept and WOW your clients (just like the one featured here!)
👉🏾 Tips for streamlining your design process so that you can position yourself as a creative expert, saving yourself time and leaving your clients completely satisfied.

8 years ago, I had no idea what I was doing with my design business.

I’d look at other brand designers in the same arena and wonder how they got to where they were. How they were working with such dreamy clients, getting rave reviews, and charging high-end prices without getting completely burnt out.

But then one day after a nightmare client situation, I decided enough was enough.

At the time, I was struggling with streamlining my business, increasing my prices, and working with the right clients.

I felt trapped. Like I wouldn’t be able to have a branding studio that gave me freedom in my life and my design career.

But then things changed.

I found my stride.

And I developed my own, powerful techniques to get ahead.

And doing so has helped me in numerous ways, like being able to have a client sign off on a project with ZERO revisions.

But I didn’t want to keep this knowledge inside. I wanted others to have this same feeling. To know that they, too, can have a design career that is fulfilling and pays your bills (and then some).

So, I created Brand Process Savvy which is opening for enrollment today!

Brand Process Savvy is designed to show you how to streamline your design process, charge more for banding projects, and have clients sign off with zero revisions!

I want you to take a moment to think about something that’s been holding you back -- maybe it’s the fear of increasing your pricing or not knowing how to present only one design concept to a client.

Then, imagine what it would feel like to bust the ceiling on those limitations and finally achieve balance in your workload and fulfillment in your business. If you want to stop imaging and start doing, check out Brand Process Savvy!

I started .seaside so that I could have more time at home with my kiddos. Buuuut I quickly found out that starting your own business doesn’t always equal more free time 😩😩

As the kiddos grow and my biz begins to run on autopilot, I’ve been finding more time for myself and it feels absolutely fantastic.

Here’s to less work and more free time 🤙🏼

I'm walking you through everything I know about using the One Concept Method.

The video lessons, templates and 1:1 coaching all combine to help you refine your design process, charge more for your branding projects and get zero revisions from clients.

Before I started using the one concept method I was really unclear about how my clients would be okay with receiving just one option. For so long my clients have expected three choices and making that switch felt really hard.

But here’s the deal. By limiting the options I provided my clients, I was actually providing them with the best possible service out there.

While there may be a little bit more leg work at the beginning of the process, trust me - you will save hours upon hours in the long run. Want to start using The One Concept Method in your design process? Sign up foe the Brand Process Savvy course at the link in my bio!

Long weekend day dreams 😍

Photos from Studio Seaside's post 05/09/2021

Any successful brand identity is more than just a single logo. It's a full suite of logo marks that give the client options depending on the where they're using it.

The primary logo needs to be able to scale larger or smaller. It needs to work on a white background or a dark background.

The brand identity should have logo icons. A color pallet, font suggestions and even a brand pattern.

When using the One Concept method, I'm not giving my client only one logo and calling it a day. Their getting a full suite of brand assets to use throughout their marketing.

Here's a handful of projects I've done using the one concept method. If you want to learn more about how to use the one concept method in your branding process, join the free workshop happening next week! Link in bio to join.

I’ve been using the one concept method for just over a year now and I can confidently say it has changed the way I design and my clients are happier with this process. Plus, it has left me feeling more fulfilled in my work.

If you are feeling creatively drained and tired of endless revisions from clients - the One Concept Method is for you! Scroll through to see why I love using the One Concept Method and head on over to the link in my bio to join me for a workshop and Q&A all about the my process. Pop any questions in the comments!

--Image Descriptions:[Slide 1: Title slide, "What's the One Concept Method"][Slide 2: Description of the one concept method, text reads "The graphic design industry standard is anywhere from 3-6 concepts delivered to a client for a brand identity project and then the client gets to choose the option they like best. With the one concept method, the designer only delivers one concept."][Slide 3: Explanation of why the one concept methos is flawed. Test reads "There’s not always three solutions to the design problem. You’re the creative expert, clients are investing in you for your opinion. You risk clients having mixed/matched logos that don’t serve their brand. You’re left creatively drained having to come up with multiple ideas when you already know the best choice for them.][Slide 4: Description of why I love the One Concept Method. Text Reads: "Clients have less revisions, often items ZERO changes. It gives clarity to the client around their brand foundation and identity making them more satisfied with the end result. Improves and simplifies your creative process leaving you more fulfilled and able to finish project quicker. Read More at the link in my bio"]
