This incredibly rare V12-powered Mercedes-Benz SL 73 AMG is one of just 85 cars ever made. After being parked for 17 years, it was fortunately rediscovered and recommissioned by the maestros at .official.

A 1984 AMG with all its original AMG documentation. Even the car’s Illinois registration “AMG NA’ is the same as when Hans Werner Aufrecht (the A in AMG) first presented the car to the original owners.
The options include; AMG complete cosmetic body-kit including; AMG front spoiler, AMG side skirts, AMG rear skirt and AMG rear spoiler, AMG monochromatic chrome trim treatment in matching Lapis Blue, 8” x 16” AMG Penta front wheels, 9” × 16” AMG Penta rear wheels, color matched wheel centers spokes and outer lips with AMG center caps, AMG Sport Suspension with the classic AMG coil springs and specially tuned AM spec’d shock absorbers, AMG factory headers with matching original AMG-Sebring factory sport exhaust system. SOLD this stunning Mercedes SL72 AMG (RHD & 362 Km from new)
An example of one of AMG’s rarest and most exotic models, the legendary SL 70, which, when it went on sale in 1995 was the most powerful car that the company had ever produced, boasting a supercar-league maximum output of 525bhp and 553lb/ft of torque. Ferrari’s F50 of the same year offered 512bhp and 347lb/ft!
Later given the designation SL 73, it was based on the flagship SL600 that had debuted in the R129 platform at the Geneva Show in 1989. Sleeker and more aerodynamically efficient than its W107 predecessor, the new SL also incorporated a wealth of safety features, including a spring-loaded, self-erecting roll bar.
For the SL 72, AMG bored and stroked the SL600’s 6.0-litre V12 to achieve a cubic capacity of 7,055 cc. The transmission was Mercedes-Benz’s latest five-speed automatic, and power was transmitted to the ground via a special wheel/tyre combination. AMG decided that they need not be bound by the German manufacturers’ agreement to restrict their vehicles’ top speed to 250km/h (155mph), and as a result the SL 72 was able to unleash its full potential, which meant a top speed of around 185mph with the 0-60mph dash covered in only 4.8 seconds. As a testament to the stupendous performance of the SL 72 and later SL 73, Horacio Pagani chose its AMG-modified V12 engine as the power unit for his new Pagani Zonda supercar.
Production was halted after an estimated 35 SL600s had been modified to SL 72 specification. Of the 35 SL 72s built, 25 were purchased in a package deal by the Sultan of Brunei, leaving just a 10 examples to be sold privately.
mralexmanos Presents…. This 1953 Mercedes-Benz 300S Coupe is 1 of 216 ever produced. Incredibly hand-built two-door 300S vehicle on its introduction at the Paris Salon in October 1951. Although mechanically similar to the much larger contemporary four-door 300 (W186), the additional craftsmanship, visual elegance, and 50% higher price tag elevated the W188 to the apex of its era’s luxury cars. Cary Grant, Gary Cooper & Alex Manos are known to have owned one of these amazing vehicles.
Our 300S was fitted with a high-performance version of the W186’s 3.0 L overhead cam, aluminum head M186 straight-6, the M188. Designed to give reliable service under prolonged hard use, the engine featured deep water jackets, an innovative diagonal head-to-block joint that allowed for oversized intake and exhaust valves, thermostatically controlled oil cooling, copper-lead bearings, and a hardened crankshaft. One of the most interesting cars I’ve ever owned.

Rebuilding the M119 SL500 engine. Our 1999 R129 SL500 needed open heart surgery after a hard life. It only had 98k miles. The full restoration including engine / interior / exterior episode coming later in the year.
