CANADIAN CLUB A ON A ROLL, WIN THIRD STRAIGHT

It was SCHL Rivalry Night at the Milford Ice Pavilion on Monday night, as the Canadian Club A took on their long time foes, the Turtles. And just like old times, the Club fought its way to a hard earned 5-3 victory. That makes three in a row for the boys in the black; officially a win streak.
“After the start we got off to this season, it feels damn good to put this one away and keep the streak alive.” said Club player/coach Greg Maxey “Any night we beat those *explicative* Turtles is great *explicative* night.”
After an early first period goal from the Turtles, the Club got a timely equalizer from Ryan Pospisil (1-0-1) to start a 4-0 goal run. The tally is Pospisil’s first on the year, and comes after some time away from the team to find his inner self in Mexico.
Rivalry night against the Turtles wouldn’t be complete without some fireworks. Late in the second period, Canadian Club spiritual guru and enforcer Brent Piepenbring dropped the gloves and bloodied up an appropriately named “Turtle” who had taken liberties that shift with cross checks and slashes. Club D-man Nick Watson and Turtles forward Steve Rosenkrantz also went Nose to Nose, though no punches were landed.

Fresh off his week 4 shut out over Cheshire Sport, CC net minder Greg Montesano came up big when it mattered, holding a potent Turtles lineup to only 3 goals on 32 shots. Montesano’s season GAA (6.00) and SV% (.801) continue to improve as the season continues.
“Every season with the club, you always look for certain games to circle on the calendar and the Turtles is ahhh ya know definitely one of those games.” said Montesano. “I felt good coming off of last weeks game and just wanted to ahhh build on that momentum.”

The Club also received contributions from Superstar forward Brian Sarosky (2-1-3), dependable veteran Scott Lengyel (1-0-1) and young playmaker Mike Ahearn (1-1-2).

After the game in the parking lot press conference Maxey added “This three game streak has been fun, its been encouraging, but now’s not the time to celebrate. Not because I’m afraid we’ll get too cocky, only because those *explicatives* from Fairfield County got cheap on the beers, Jesus Christ I guess I gotta do everything man."

The Canadian Club next square off with the Golden Eagles on the road, at 7:15 on Sunday 6/26 at the Louis Astorino Rink in Hamden. Tickets are limited, but still available.

Canadian Club A In the Win Column

Led by a first line scoring spree, the Canadian Club A squad earned their first win of the season, by a score of 13-8.
Led by Brian Sarosky (3-4-7), Mike Ahearn (2-2-4) and Scott Lengyel (2-2-4) the Club "exploded" all over New Haven Drywalls young goaltender, spraying him with an overwhelming 45 shot white out.
After a tough start to the season, GM and team spiritual guru, Grex Maxey recalled Chris Smith to the forward lines, in an attempt to spark some offensive production. The move paid dividends with Smith notching the first goal of the game, and giving the club its first lead of the season.
"Everybody seemed to be getting to complacent in the locker room, I felt like I needed to rock the boat to get these *explicatives* playing real hockey again," Maxey said of the roster change. "Smitty came in and skated his bag off. I think it got some guys a little nervous about their roster spots."
Soon after Smith's tally, Sarosky bolstered the lead with a strike to give the club a two goal lead, and despite the sabotage efforts longtime Club net minder, Greg Montesano, a total team effort saw the Club never lose the lead for the rest of the night.
Though he did show some encouraging flashes of vintage brilliance, Montesano's early season struggles continued last night, as the longtime net minder allowed 8 goals on 31 shots.
After the game, a seemingly down trodden Montesano said "Look, ahhhh... I'm still shaking off the rust a little bit ahhhh... Didn't feel great tonight but ahh ya know, the win is a real step in a positive direction."
Montesano's GAA is trending down from 9.0 to 8.6
Other contributions from the club came from stingy d-man Nick Watson (2-1-3), feisty Tim Fox (2-1-3) and hefty center Kevin Leger (1-1-2).
The Canadian Club A moves to 1-2-0 on the season. Their next game comes Monday, June 13th at 8:45 PM EST at the Milford Ice Pavilion against Cheshire Sport(0-2-0).

Canadian Club Announces Team Building Event

What could go wrong, right?

Saturday August 16th, Coop’s beach house, 14 Stowe Ave, Milford CT

Canadian Club Management is pleased to announce a meeting of the minds, and bellies, to send our youngest comrades off to school. It has been a long Spring/Summer for them as their young legs carried the heavy weight of the aged/veteran core of CC hockey.
The event will kick off at 3PM with Patrick “Coops” Cooper performing the ceremonial grill lighting. Coops will have burgers and hot dogs on low-carb buns (gluten free ones for Chels…I mean Tim Fox) Club members are encouraged to bring something to serve along with their beverages of choice! CC food connoisseur Tyler Wragg will be more than happy to give suggestions if you can’t find your way around the kitchen, ahem Nick tWatson.
Single dollar bills are not required but recommended. Like, heavily recommended. As a matter of fact they are required, bring singles. The Front Office hope you can all attend on the short notice, if you cannot, well...it's really your loss. Any questions or concerns can be directed to yours truly.

Yours, in hockey and in G-strings, Vic Vicenzi Canadian Club Player Relations & Entertainment Coordinator

Latest News: The club is on the climb in the SCHL after some big signings with the help of standout Goaltender T. Scott. We are pleased to announce we have retained the services of Paul Thompson and Phil Desimone. In other news, the SCHL has announced a 5 game suspension for Club forward Todd Schauss for laying down the hammer. That-a boy Todd. The message was clearly received when the organization fined Todd a week earlier for picking up an opponents stick during a game. Player/Coach Patrick Cooper had this to say " Now that's Canadian Club hockey, This week Schauss is clearly the winner of the coveted CC Golden Hammer! "

Canadian Club News : After a disappointing spring season in the AHL/CT, and a slow start in the SCHL this summer, many Club players have been calling on head of player relations, Vic Vicenzi, to get it together and arrange a team building event. Defenseman (sorta) Nick Watson had this to say before tonight's game with the Redwings " I don't know what the organization is worried about, I'm still Awsome!"

Press Release: As the first order of business, Management determines Ryan Pospisil to be completely useless, and with the help of the teams Financial Advisor, decides it would be fiscally irresponsible to offer him a new contract.

In related news fines have been levied against several Canadian Club members for "jokingly" referring to Kevin Leger as Pospisil.
There are certain lines you don't cross boys.
