How lovely to see blossom on the trees this time of year
Tulips and hyacinths are making a beautiful show just now.
🎨
Spring is here 😊
This delicate little Narcissus has been sheltering beneath a smoke bush in our garden.
This little vintage chair and parasol were the subject of another recent still life set up .
Had some fun with this one 😊

Three little House Sparrows …
One of the UK’s most common birds - despite a severe decline in numbers. According to the , it is thought that the UK has lost nearly 22 million House Sparrows since 1966!
A cheeky squirrel … fluffy, grey cuteness!
The Music Man 🎶🎵
This cheerful one-man band made an appearance at a garage sale in our area during the Covid period. He kindly consented to being photographed and I’ve been meaning to paint him ever since - a recent prompt to produce a painting with a musical theme was all I needed!
Despite the recent heavy rain, this bedraggled little guy still claimed his breakfast at our garden feeder
Using my artistic licence … Some New Year’s Eve fireworks with Rottingdean’s Grade II listed smock mill in the foreground.
Wishing you a Happy New Year! 🥳
Part of a larger painting that I’ve been working on recently…
Whilst on holiday, we came across this line of abandoned, old wooden boats in Douarnenez, Brittany.
The Holly and the Ivy … Seasons Greetings
The holly bush down the lane is smothered in plump red berries - a welcome feast for many of our native birds and winter visitors.
Something from a while ago - Four french chevaliers heading for a medieval festival joust.
Winter Squash - gorgeous colours and great textures. Apparently they are classified as vine fruits although we think of the edible ones as vegetables.
So ... fruit, vegetable or decorative display?
Remembrance Poppies
Something a bit different!
Guy Fawkes and colourful explosions was a recent theme , so this is what I came up with…
'Fireworks at The Pavilion'

Had a lovely couple of days in London when I attended last Friday’s Private View of the SAA Artist of the Year Exhibition .
What a thrill to see my painting on the wall of a London Gallery!
The exhibition was a brilliant show of talent and it was lovely to meet some of the other winners and receive my award.
It’s Autumn …. that means Conkers!

This Labradorite heart is one of my favourite objects. I love the flashes of blue, green and gold reflected from it ... it is said to have healing and mystical properties and is linked in folklore to the Northern Lights.
Birdie’s new hat!
These little stone birds sit on my garden table …
Someone in my household added the vacant snail shell, which fits perfectly!
I think the little bird on the left wants one too 😉
A little seasonal watercolour …
Music, music, music … love the sound of a clarinet 🎼🎶
One from the archive …
Something a bit different … Souvenirs of a day at the seaside.
I had fun painting the little wooden lighthouse and fish which formed part of a still life set up .
I added the other elements from my sketchbook.
Metamorphosis …
The adult Elephant hawk-moth has now found its way into my previous illustration of its caterpillar and chrysalis.
Happily, this beautiful night flying moth found food and shelter among the fuchsia, honeysuckle and rosebay willowherb plants in our garden.
Nigella … or as it’s more commonly known Love-in-a-Mist.
This watercolour is on display in my current exhibition Cafe Gallery
Even More Exciting News!
I am absolutely delighted …
