Well today’s the day. Our system is undoubtedly broken. And after a year of pleading for a ceasefire myself, I have no judgement for people that have voted third party although currently my heart is also hurting for women and immigrants that will be impacted here by the orange man. I know that whatever the outcome it will be our job to come together and protect one another if it comes down to it. What I will most definitely judge you for though is voting for that evil man that has lied, threatened our democracy and made this world increasingly unsafe for people of color by emboldening white supremists. There is no excuse or justification for that. None of his economic plans make sense and even if they did, to be sooo honest with you as someone who at times does hit the threshold of his tax break plan I could never be so selfish that I would choose a tax break for myself so I could buy what? More flights and Jacquemus for me when people are struggling to buy groceries? TAX MEEEE KAMALA, What is not clicking???? Very embarrassing to be that selfish. Vote with your morals, vote to protect women and the vulnerable or just stay home please.

One more dump since hasn’t granted me 20 frame carousels yet 🫣🫠 this ones dedicated to all the new friends and virtual friends turned IRL. This has been such a refreshing experience to top off a challenging summer where I was forced to learn a few things, among them being 1. No one is coming to save me and therefore 2. It is up to be to be the change I want to see in this world and therefore 3. I need to be around likeminded energized creators and world builders and innovators. Even though the dump is void of any of the actual panels and talking points 😭 trust it was more than fits and photo opps I promise, thank you for always feeling like a warm embrace NYC 🫶🏽

There are moments in life where the darkness gets the best of us and makes it hard to see all the color that makes life worth living. I’ve been there and I am so grateful to have come out of that and come to a place where once again I can hope and dream and feel wonder and joy for all the little moments that make up our lives. I want to encourage anyone that is currently struggling to hold on, reach out for help, you are not a burden, you are a flower that we want to see bloom again.

I’ve been working on a set of illustrations exclusively for a new Caribbean art marketplace that celebrates the vibrancy of my culture. Here’s one of them, inspired by my favorite fruit 🍉

I always feel called to share my journey (and reshare over and over again) whether it’s in my books, blogs in the past, a panel, a podcast, or via social media and the way i intentionally keep lots of highlights and all the posts since i started instagram but I was never fully conscious of it until I shared a series of story posts last week and then listened to sermon at this past Sunday. I realized that I am not fulfilled solely by my evolution, I need you all to come with me. I wrote some words to myself after that reflection and decided to share it with y’all as a reminder that in these unprecedented times, I’m gonna need you all to tap into your light and do some unprecedented things. It’s might just be up to us to end the suffering we experience everyday and bring a little heaven to earth. What role can you play? How can you better show up for yourself and community? What does success mean to you really?

I thought this would’ve been a 5-10 illustration series and it ended up being the journey to me finding my “style” thank you all for the support over the years, I thought it was so cool to see the intention I embedded in the work without knowing how that would be received and then seeing how it manifested, wow.
